Cleansing Balms the Way ti Go in This Weather!!!

Doing everything I can to keep hydrated in this freezing cold. Went through my stash and luckily found a small Eve Lom and a Boots Botanics cleansing balm. Both are taking off all my makeup thoroughly, leaving my skin feeling super soft and feel so good when I massage them in. Too bad Eve Lom is so expensive, I really think hers is more emollient and love the stronger herbal scent. But both are really helping me survive the Arctic Blast !

Any of you using balms right now?

I don't own any cleansing balms but I do notice that I am using my heavier moisturizer more often than not and I am in California. I also use products with aloe to help heal any chapped skin I may have. Also, I have a small humidifier that is getting a work out!!!

I also use a heavier moisturizer in the winter but don't change my cleanser as it works for me.

I bought the Eve Lom and I think the Boots brand is quite similar. Won't spend the money for Eve Lom again.

I would not be without my cleansing oil, especially now with the cold weather. Total skinsaver, imho!

Re: Cleansing Balms the Way ti Go in This Weather!!!

Living in MI with sensitive skin due to frostbite a few years back has me only using cleansing balms year round! Another great tip is tp run a warm mist humidifier while you sleep. My deem recommended to help keep skin hydrated. It really helps! Make sure you eating enough healthy fats as this keeps skin plump as well, and limit alcohol which is dehydrating and can flare Rosacea.

Ive tried lots of balms -my all time favorite is Josie Marans and Boots. (which you can find at target with other "number 7" items.)

Eve lom-actually prefer the day time version better-more slip so less irritating to sensitive skin. But petroleum based and even though that doesn't really bother me, I can't get past the exorbitant price for petroleum! It just makes me feel like I'm being snookered.

Strivectins which is exclusive to QVC is interesting as it leaves your skin feeling more like it does with a traditional soap based cleanser. Too drying for my dry, mature skin.

Ren's, rose balm and body shops chamomile balm burned the first time I used them so I can't really say how the finish.

Bobbie browns was just goopy and thick and didn't dissolve-only used it once. Icky

I love tatchas cleansing oil and you can use any natural oil as a massaging carrier oil and save lots of money. I make my own cleansing oil with argan and a few drops of rosemary oil added to the bottle. Works great!

Would love to hear of others people have tried as it seems very company is jumping on the cleansing oil alm bandwagon!

My skin is having a horrible time this winter. Skinns 24hour cream really saved me last winter but this latest jar isn't doing a thing for me. I might need to look into the boots cleansing balm. I will not pay for eves. I am using my cleansing oil in the morning and its not very moisturizing. So, I will look for boots. Thanks for mentioning.

I use Philosophy's Purity oil. At this time of year with the harsh dryness, except on nights when I will also include a cleansing using the Clarisonic (which requires a creamy cleanser) it's sometimes all I need. My skin is oily and I never have any negative reactions using oil on my skin.

Speaking of balm cleansers, The Body Shop has one called Camomile Cleansing Balm. It may not be the best cleanser option for me, but I think some who like the texture of a balm cleanser may find it to their liking.
