Cleaning Cosmetic Brushes

We all know that it's important to clean makeup brushes, But, I find that I don't like the way they look and perform after they are washed.

I actually like brushes before they are cleaned, because they are in the perfect shape, and texture.

Does anyone else notice this? I clean them properly, rinse, form back into original shape, but they seem to become too soft and loose the shape that I purchased them for to begin with. I do like firmer and not overly soft brushes, because I find they do not pick up enough product and are harder to blend and work with.

Would love opinions and suggestions.
