Cleaned Out My Makeup Collection Last Night

Everything is worthy of giving to a special girl (not granddaughter), iow, nothing that should be thrown away.

I have a makeup pouch STUFFED with two or 3 items more that wouldn't fit.  She will be thrilled.  She has dry skin like me and is at least one shade lighter than me.  She's in the "fair" range.  I'm giving her the Missha foundation that I recently purchased (for dry skin).  It's a shade too light for me.  She is set for a LONG time.  I'm not sure I've ever seen her in e/s.  Most girls her age don't wear it.  When I asked her if she wanted any e/s she said she liked neutrals or a "smokey eye".  I told her a smokey eye was more of a style and asked if she was talking about a black, dark gray look.  She has black hair.  She said yes.  So I included the Colourpop Blowin' Smoke palette.  I will buy a drugstore primer and moisturizer for her.

Can't wait to go over there today to give her the goods Smiley Happy

How nice!! Am sure she will be thrilled!!

I have found that I can't wear Laura Gellers fat eyeliner pencils anymore--makes my eyes sting and I so LOVE the colors--and my adult DD doesn't use those things either. Just got them this year but will prob have to toss them!! Just makes me crazy--prob $50 in the trash!!

Re: Cleaned Out My Makeup Collection Last Night

I should have also cleaned out my makeup drawer. Easier said than done.

After retiring and Covid, I stopped wearing makeup. Everytime I wore makeup I would smear makeup on my mask. And I had to have numerous masks, so I could wash them after wearing them. Got to be annoying, so stopped wearing makeup.

But everytime I looked at the drawer, 95% of the products were never opened. I stocked up when I knew I was going to retire. I liked certain products and all too often, Products would be discontinued. So I would stock up.

Hate the idea of throwing all those products away. But it seems all my friends have stopped wearing makeup too. I just have to face the facts. I don't need a drawer filled with makeup. Time to purge.

@San Antonio Gal and @drizzellla  -YES!!   I second sending it to Project Beauty Share.  I've been sending them my gently used or extras of makeup that I don't need for years.  It's a gret organization!

Re: Cleaned Out My Makeup Collection Last Night

@San Antonio Gal Thanks for the information. I had read about the organization a few years ago but forgot the name,

Our local homeless shelter does not accept makeup or cosmetics.
