Clarisonic Mia brush head smells

I clean it off each use, then put the cover that has several holes in it on the brush head. Then stand it upside down so the extra water drains off but it doesn't. The next night it really smells like when damp towels don't dry in the humid weather. YUCK. What are you ladies doing that I'm not?
