Can anyone who uses this skincare and makeup say why she likes it?

I bought a cream to powder foundation years ago while I was away from home. I remember liking it, and even wanting to get more when I had used it up, but I never followed through.

I read a review that made me take notice and I started wondering.

So if you can tell me -

Is this company independent, or has it been swallowed by a larger one?

Is it animal friendly?

Are the products worth the price? Which do you like?

TIA!   Smiley Happy

Looks like they are still privately owned , Loreal bought the fragrance division.  A lot of fragrance in many products , there is an interesting eye lift product.

I cannot speak to the business questions as I haven't followed up with Clarins in years..

Years ago I used to use a few Clarins products when I was still doing dept. store makeup purhases, like at Macy's.

I used to use their eye makeup remover, which I liked a lot...the blue liquid in the bottle which I believe they still sell. It was not oily, took off makeup gently, unscented.

They always gave out product samples back in those days...so I tried many of the creams that way...and liked them.

Back then they seemed to market themselves as clean, more natural ingredients....I remember the creams were nice too...no offensive fragrances, absorbed well, skin felt soft.

In essence I liked everything I tried back then. But I don't know if the company has changed, as I'm remembering my experience with them from the 90's, early 2000's.

After I started buying skincare on QVC, I started using Philosophy and then Dr. Denese more...mostly ease of purchasing and I liked the products also.

But I've occasionally wondered about Clarins and and maybe trying them again...

@beach-mom

Hi Clarins was one of the brands I started using when I got my first real job in the mid 1980's . I had their eye makeup remover and their hand cream was amazing . They did have makeup , but skin care was their thing . I know they all had fragrance in them . I too liked everything I tried , best part was no matter what department store you went to the SA gave tons of samples . I went cruelty free serveral years ago . I was curious . According to all articles I checked the main brand is NOT cruelty . One article states that Clarins came out with a cruelty free -vegan line called "MY CLARINS". It does not say if these products are similar to the ones we remember or conpletely new . In the picture it looks like they have a sleep mask , hydrating cream and a face mist .

@beach-mom   I'm fairly sure it's still a French family's privately owned company. On their site, there is a 10% discount on first order and free samples.
