Re: Clarifying sulfate free shampoo that’s not expensive?

I'm curious as to why you want a sulfate-free clarifying shampoo. I always think of clarifying shampoos as having sulfates.   If it's to get build-up from silicones or some styling products out of your hair, you will need a sulfate shampoo.

@Icegoddess ,

I agree. I thought sulfates were what makes a shampoo 'clarifying'.

@Justholdingon

The following brands are available at Target and Walmart. You may want to call the store or check online for availability and price.

OGX, several formulas to choose from

Nothing But Clarifying Shampoo

Grapefruit Detox

Aveeno Pure Renewel

Hopefully one of these shampoos will work for you until Sally’s has a coupon or sale on the shampoo you love.

Blessings and hugs,

Neutrogena has a nice clarifying shampoo, and I think it's sulfate free although I'm not positive. I get it at either Walgreen's or Walmart. I don't really think that $8 for a 15 oz. bottle at Sally's is expensive - sounds reasonable to me.

That has sulfates.

No, it doesn't.

I just looked it up to be sure.  It is sulfate free. Sulfates make soaps lather.  Baby shampoo has no lather.

@Justholdingon  I use Acure's Clarifying shampoo with lemongrass and argan.  It's wonderful and it is $7.64 for 12 oz. at iherb.com  Lasts forever because I do not use clarifying shampoo all the time.  If you really have to watch your budget then use your regular shampoo and then rinse with 1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar and 1/2 cup warm water and then rinse with clear water.

I looked it up, too, and found this on Amazon:

"Water, PEG-80 sorbitan laurate, cocamidopropyl betaine, sodium trideceth sulfate, PEG-150 distearate, phenoxyethanol, glycerin, citric acid, fragrance, sodium benzoate, tetrasodium EDTA, polyquaternium-10, ethylhexylglycerin, sodium hydroxide, potassium acrylates copolymer, yellow 6, yellow 10".

Probably more than one formulation. Some have it and some don't. I looked at item number B00JPT8YWS on amazon and found those ingredients. It's weird.
