You aren't cheating on Wen; you are making your hair happy. That's what counts!!!!
You all have this down to a science. I saw a lot of signs that something was going on with my hair, but I didn't know what they meant.
Since I had been Wenning for 10 months, I figured shampooing every 6 months would be preemptive. I need to consider doing it more often!

I used sham poo a couple weeks ago. Once. I don't know what the heck I was thinking, my hair felt completely horrible and dry with that junk on it. And it lightened my hair a little.

My Husband is the Wen user in the family and he tells me that he has to use REGULAR Shampoo every few weeks to get the WAXY build-up on his scalp..... Once CLEAN..Back to Wen......

I get my hair trimmed every eight weeks at a TIGI salon so my hair gets a 'reboot' then. The best part is that I don't have to buy those expensive shampoos and conditioners on top of my WEN products. My hair is as healthy and happy as it has ever been.

I do this too. I notice I have to do it more often in the summer.
The clarifying shampoo really cleanses my scalp well....gets rid of all the build up. My second cleanse is with my usual CC.
I actually felt a little guilty the first time - some Wenners NEVER use any kind of shampoo, no less a clarifying one...but the results were worth it!

I love how my shampooed hair reacted to all of my Wen products. So far, my plan is to shampoo twice a year with Pantene Curly.
Regarding ReMoist, add a splash of water. That was like chocolate and peanut butter for me!
Thanks HB!
You actually inspired to do that with the ReMoist when you first posted about adding the water and it's made a good thing even better
I shampoo once a week, sometimes more, but I'm about to become a full-time Wenner (thanks to the TSV and FTP which will make it cost effective), and I think I'll only clarify like once a month if my hair can handle it!

Ryleigh, that splash of water was a game changer for me. I was going to finish my ReMoist as a leave-in and not purchase it again. Not it's a weekly staple.
Clarifying once a month sounds good! Your hair will give you signs when it's time. My hair gave me many signs: my greys turned yellow, my strands felt course (hard to explain, because my hair is course), TT no longer stimulated my scalp, and a few others.

I can always tell when it's time to clarify because I stop being able to feel the menthol - the menthol, believe it or not, is my favorite part!

Good post!! I pretty much for years have always used a clarifying shampoo 1x a week or when I felt my hair needed it and planned to do so even when I started using the Wen..I can't wait to bust out the ReMoist!
