I asked here in the forums about various symptoms and got a great deal of suggestions. None of them either worked or applied to my situation.
And again, if shampooing allows some of us to use Wen to it's fullest potential, why do you have a problem with that?
I also would love to hear your opinion on this, okie, because I'd love to be Wen-sclusive and ditch the shampoo, but I just can't right now given the hard water situation we have here.

sorry for stepping in here...but here are my thoughts....my guess (haven't taken a poll or anything) is those who need a clarifying shampoo are likely using other products besides wen...meaning other styling products, protein packs,...etc. I think that's why Chaz often says Cuc Aloe is the most astringent and can be used to clarify.... also I think some may not be using enough pumps to get a thorough cleanse or taking the time to really massage the scalp and work the product through the hair so that is emulsifies with that splash or two or water....I think the biggest mistakes some make are not using enough the cleanse....it really does make a difference in how long you can go between cleansing....

Every time I see you post I feel so much envy and wish I could be you - is Chaz as amazing in person?
I know he'd be freaking out at Wenners doing clarifying shampoo
awwww thanks! and yes he's amazing in person and because I do know him IRL it makes those personal attacks hard to stomach and sometimes I will say something...but I digress, sorry! another thread is bugging me right now LOL!!
I can only imagine the look on his face if I said 'hey, you know how some are using the remoist....after using a clarifying shampoo"! LOL!! He knows people still use curling irons, flat irons, hot rollers, metal brushes...etc I think this is why he emphasizes the importance of repairing hair with remoist and using the oils on the scalp to help remedy the damaging effects of those hot tools I mentioned....again I digress......
I can imagine it must be tough with all the personal attacks - this board gets pretty heated and it must be hard to just kind of sit back and watch
My hair is def much more healthy, and the treatments make it much better, so I hope Chaz knows he really DOES make a huge impact on most of us here, even if the nasty posts get in the way sometimes
this is when I remind myself of wise words spoken by certain wenner....those attacks say more about them than they do about Chaz

Thanks, bg!!! You are always welcome!
I use enough pumps, work the CC in, add the water, and do all the other Solutions to Newbie Mistakes. I don't have hard water. I started using Frizz Ease after my hair got longer and thicker and outgrew Wen. The build up occurred over the course of 10 months.
I take pause with using a new Wen CC (CA) to remove Wen build up.

Is it weird that CA is more moisturizing to me than Fig? Haha. When I first got CA, I tried substituting it in for my clarifying shampoo and ended up getting a really thorough deep conditioning rather than the astringent cleanse I was looking for
I actually don't doubt for a second that using other products influences Wen, actually - I guess I'm just scared to ditch my shampoo since it works so well at refreshing my hair
Maybe I'll be brave someday soon and just chuck it!

Everyone's case is different. I don't use ANY other product, not even hair spray.
I color my hair at an Aveda salon, wash every other day and blow dry until damp. My hair is normal and slightly wavy - it's never been dry or overprocessed.
I have tried CA, POM, Bamboo, the seasonals. I followed all the instructions...but after a month or so my hair is flat & stringy. I have found that using clarifying shampoo once a month or as needed (a little more often in the summer) made all the difference and got WEN working for me again. It didn't strip the color from my hair - it didn't dry it out either. It just took away the build up and made my hair bouncy and full.
Different techniques work for different people. It's an art, not a science!

Honestly I don't even understand the need for personal attacks of any kind when it comes to Wen - Chaz didn't press "confirm order" for you when you were buying Wen, he didn't hold you hostage in the shower and force you to use it, and he definitely didn't threaten you with bodily harm if you stopped using it because it didn't work for you! You know what I mean?
And then personally attacking him and using the term "salesman" against him - like really? He's selling his product, that is literally his purpose on QVC. I think people forget he really does do salon work and built his business from the ground up and it's ridiculous

hmmmm have you tried using the Glossing Serum mixed with VTS in place of the Frizz Ease? When I completely air dry my hair (I'm a 3B - curly spirally) the last thing I apply to wet hair is a mix of GS and VTS and softly scrunch my hair to get the curls going...then hands off til it's dry, then I shake the roots a bit to break up the curl...otherwise my curls like to bunch up together and hold on to each other for dear life! LOL!!!

I'm a 2C curly myself, how do you use the VTS?! I have a bottle now from the TSV and for the life of me I can't get it to work!
On an unrelated note, today I went to spray the BGT 6oz. RTM on my face and accidentally sprayed the VTS since they look identical - you can imagine how confused I was

RyBelle, what do you expect of an astringent cleanser? Why do you think it has to dry your hair out to cleanse your scalp? When you used CA, was your scalp clean? Then it did it's job. Moisture and clean aren't mutually exclusive.
HonnyBrown, if you won't try CA, you won't know.
