It must burn some posters bacon that there people on here for whom it would be a drop in the bucket to make these purchases. Not everyone is on a limited or fixed budget. Some people ARE enjoying the good life.
Little people have lttle minds.
No wonder this site is dying.

Whoa, hold your horses there, MC. I think with the exception of maybe one post here, all was said without any nastiness or mockery or, for that matter, jealousy. So I don't think we can pull that card.
It's a very extravagantly priced cosmetic item. No one should feel bad posting about it whether for its noteworthy price or for the fact that they either have it or would like to purchase it.

Thank you, suzyQ3 and I agree 100%! I started this thread all in fun, and realize there are people who can afford to purchase this lipstick. I say to them, good for you! It's too bad some people have been offended by this thread, because that was not my intention at all.

@SahmIam wrote:Point and laugh at me all you want... I purchased one and LOVE it. The Velvet Matte is the only matte I am now able to wear; I don't like the wet look, I don't like the shiny look. I DO like the look of a deep, rich color that is matte but not so dry your lips look dehydrated or they start to peel. The color lasts 4-5 hours before needing a touch-up and there is a cushion-texture to the matte...almost like a balm affect.
The case is heavy (similiar to Guerlains) and the scent is....not really there (unlike Lancome, EL and many others). Excellent selection of shades. Will I buy more? As I use up my other shades, yes.
It certainly is beautifully packaged and sounds like a very nice formula as well. If someone around me pulled that out of their purse and applied it, I would certainly notice and ask them about it- makes a great conversation piece! Enjoy!

Unfortunately, @suzyQ3, @Margo Channing is correct.
Let me summarize posting some of the colorful adjectives to the buyers of this brand of lipstick:
Post #3: agreeing with "suckers" comment
Post #11: "more money than brains"
Post #15: "made for those not of this world"
'Nastiness', 'mockery', 'jealously'? I'll let everyone decide. Out of 20 posts, 5 were 'colorful'. To me it's very clear.
I, too, wouldn't hesitate to purchase...it's a beautiful product in beautiful packaging.

While I agree that some posts weren't very nice, I don't think calling the price tag "insane" necessarily nasty. I didn't take it as a pot shot at someone for buying but they personally feel that price tag is insane, for them.
But yes, the ones where they called peopel foolish and suckers and the more money than brains comment is uncalled for. It is unfortunate some had to go there....

The OP found the price to be notable. So she posted about the item here. People responded with their opinions, some thinking that the price is outrageous. And yes, some were blunt. But what's nasty about that? It wasn't directed at any one individual.
It's not as if she started a thread about her newest lipstick find (this one) and received mocking or insulting comments.
We're all adults here. Whether we admit to it or not, we all at times make judgments about what we personally think is too much money for a particular product. But most of us certainly understand that the next person will sometimes have a very different ranking.

Absolutely nothing wrong with starting this post and nothing wrong with comments about how high the price is for some BUT, others were .....well more than just blunt. Calling people who choose to or can afford this type of luxury suckers or brainles is just plain rude.

Is that tube of lipstick overpriced? Yes. Would I buy it? No.
OP, thanks for passing along the price of the lipstick. I received the CL email about it a week or two ago but there was no price associated with it.

Okay. Fair enough. But then, would you consider this just plain rude as well, a comment that was directed at other posters?
