Chi flat Iron

I rethinking this TSV {#emotions_dlg.confused1} I originally wanted to get a finished look, straight with a slight under at the bottom. My hair is past my shoulders.

I have never used one before so I will give a few trys. My hair is very thin but thick. My hair slips through. The plates seem so small. After watching Chaz, I'm wondering if I should get a better blow dryer and use it. (Does anyone know what brand he uses or any recommendations?)

Tips or suggestions?
