- I began doing these about 3 weeks ago. Up to 60% strength of Lactic Acid. I was nervous at first; but I was fed up with my freckles blending together and making my face look dirty. I know some of them were just plain old age spots and I wanted to make them go away. I had a professional peel in October and I was surprised at the shade lighter my skin became. So, I did some reading to see if this was a process I could do at home; and the answer was yes. My skin is so clean looking and my freckles have almost faded completely. No burning, no my face did not peel off. Lactic acid is very gentle. Only dandruff like flakes for one day. No bad effects. Have any of you done at home peels? What was/is your experience.
