Thank you so much. Same to you and yours.

@Zernia Rose Thank you. I would not have guessed that it was her that was being referenced. I really don't think of hrc as having had plastic surgery. I always thought, that the chipmunk like cheeks were just a part of her natural aging process - the fat and the muscles move with time and reposition themselves - sometimes in not the most ideal way. There have been times I thought she had work done, but I realized quickly it must be taping of some thing (and I want to know what!) because her facial look can be very changed from one day to another. I do find it refreshing but pretty surprising that she hasn't had work done. As you say it's so commonplace these days. It's like you end up being some kind of outlier if you age naturally.
I agree with you completely about all the matching dental work out there! Not that I'm against the work but I do miss the time when people were more individual in their looks and were not always medically enhancing for perfect and sameness. Even many of the old time rockers have gotten complete redo's if their mouths with perfect veneers. I end of missing the individualism, the eccentricities and the quirks. (uniqueness)

Going back to how dental work can affect the face, which @SilleeMee mentioned, I coincidentally ran across the below picture of a celebrity, where the author attributes the change in her lips to cosmetic dentistry.

The pictures also show changes in the nose and chin augmentation, either with fillers or a more permanent implant.

Hi @SilleeMee Congratulations on your new smile!
Do you mind sharing what you did? I too would like to dream. I am thinking about getting braces at 60 because my teeth have become crooked. Not sure it's possible. Gotta get to the orthodontist. I have one crown, and am afraid I need another one.
Can one get teeth straightened with crowns? I suppose I could google that, and now that I thought about it, I will, but would I love to hear people's experiences.
I had all six front teeth crowned with the shape and size teeth I wanted. My dentist calls them the "social six" ...LOL!
They don't look like my original natural teeth at all. They look a lot better, perfect. I also had eight implants plus eight more crowns for those, in the back of my mouth, to complete the process. My bottom front teeth were already good so nothing done there. It's a dream come true for sure.
This is not my teeth but it's just like mine own. I gave this picture to my dentist and he used it to make my crowns.
I picked those out of these choices:
@SilleeMee did you get all this work done for the smile of your dreams in a dental clinic? Just asking because of your other post. Because maybe i should do that for my cracked tooth. you made me think about the NYU College of Dentistry, since they probably offer a variety of services and are not invested in the one that is most profitable to them, and may thus just do the right thing. I just don't trust dentists anymore. That last place I went to gave me a variety of charges for the same procedure. I think they charge whatever they want. The dentists told me they didn't own the practice (even though it is the individuals that are licensed) and they had no idea about the billing. Just don't know anyone with a good experience. My prior dentists have had issues too.
Thans as always.

That's the one I chose when you posted this picture months ago.
I had braces when I was 11 or 12. I don't think they've moved. Maybe a smidgeon but they still look good.
I know I take after my dad in the teeth dept. Neither one of us has ever had a cavity. Mom and my brother weren't so lucky. Here is a tip I've been doing for decades. It came from my dentist. He said to not rinse out the toothpaste for 5 minutes so it can continue to work. That's inconvenient so I just don't rinse at all or I'll rinse with mouthwash but mostly don't rinse. Closing in on 64 (OMGosh! That LOOKS really old
) and no cavities. Is it because of his tip? Could be. My brother had to have all his pulled and got dentures. That's what a life of drugs and cigarettes will do ![]()

Some of the work I had done at the dental institute, mostly the implants and grafts. But the abutments and crowns were done at an office. The institute and the office are associated to each other by the doctors who run the institute so I got a good deal.

@SilleeMee Thanks as always. I need to be evaluated, because I just don't trust those dentists. I may just go to NYU. I think I know someone who went there. I'll ask her why she doesn't like them.

@monicakm My teeth are in fairly good condition for someone my age. I haven't had a cavity/filling in like 40 years, have only had about 4 of them in my teens, early 20s. I had so little need for work one of my dentists told me not to come back, he wasn't taking my insurance! (He did replace my old silver fillings with resin.) But my teeth used to be straight and are now crooked. I am thinking I grind my teeth and have been in denial about it. Maybe that caused my teeth to move? My tooth that was in worse condition from those early cavities cracked about 10 years ago and I needed a root canal and a crown. And then last year I cracked another tooth that had not had a cavity. A dentist wrapped it in a sleeve, but the sleeve fell apart last month. Other than that newly cracked tooth, my teeth are healthy, just some crowded and crooked. Thinking about braces, because it gets hard to clean well crooked teeth.

I hate mint toothpaste, so what I've been doing is brushing my teeth with no toothpste for the last two years. My first post-Covid check didn't show anything wrong. Now I have to go find a plain toothpaste if one exists, or perhaps Arm & Hammer? Anyone have experience with this? And what's her face, it looks like it was photo shopped, I don't think she has ever been that wrinkled. (The first celeb referenced.)
