Thanks for all the recommendations ladies.  I know I'm dehydrated.  I guess along with drier, cooler weather (but it was 72 earlier  today Smiley Surprised) it's all combined to wreck havoc on my poor lips.  They are better today tho.  The heat hasn't been on thank goodness.  This is just the first time I've had chapped lips unless I was sick with a fever and that's been years and years ago.

using a straw all the time can cause wrinkles around the mouth.

I've heard that too.  I rarely drink from a straw.

Well, I guess my skin care offsets any wrinkling possibilities.   Like I said, I've been using them for decades and I'm good.  Woman Happy

I am constantly trying  different lip balms. I have them in many places in the car, handbags,  totes, yoga bag etc

One not mentioned I heard about some years ago on BB. is Cococare Cocoa Butter. I have to apply that very often during the day. I like Aquaphor also in the day.  For night time Clinique Superbalm or Laneige has helped. Using a good night treatment has helped me a lot for relief in the day. These are the ones I have gone back to.

Don't know if this has been mentioned, but some medications will dry your lips. Ask your pharmacist.

@vermint Sorry, I guess I should have stated I would not use Vaseline on my skin.

Aquaphor is a much better/healthier option.

Aquaphor is 40% petroleum jelly (aka 'Vaseline').

@Sugipine ,  it depends on the formula.  I pulled out a tube of Aquaphor Lip Repair I bought on my last ski trip and there's no petrolatum in it.  I posted the ingredient deck on page 2.

Yes, I saw your post. I knew the lip didn't have it but all their other stuff does.

I agree with  @Tinkrbl44 about drinking from a straw.  I have been drinking any beverage using a straw for most of my 70 years and I do not have the wrinkled puckering around my lips.  I also have been moisturizing for most of those years, so perhaps that has been the offset.

I don't think drinking thru a straw is bad for lip wrinkles.  You don't have to really use too much effort to use a straw.

Chewing with your mouth closed your entire life is one reason why you get lip wrinkles.

I'm not saying don't do it, but look at yourself and others when they eat or drink from a coffee cup.

I have heard that drinking from straw will cause the dreaded smoker wrinkles around the mouth.  I used to use a straw but stopped when I heard that LOL!

How can you not close your mouth while chewing food?  I was always told as a child to chew with your mouth closed.  Wouldn't that be super messy and gross others out Woman LOL

I also use the Aquaphor for lips and it does help but I am sensitive to toothpaste or mouth wash as those products can be very drying to the lips.
