Chanel No. 5

Ladies who love Chanel No. 5 can you tell me why you love it? I am seriousely thinking about taking the plunge and buying it just for the fact that it is an iconic fragrance. Of course I have many times sprayed myself with testers at Dept.stores and found it to be very intriguing and soft as it wore on. I am not a big fragrance wearer but I would like to have one special scent and nothing else. So C lovers LET"S TALK!

@KittyPurry, I have worn Chanel #5 for 45 years. I love it for so many reasons, most of which will not be relevant to anyone but me. first, it was my mother's fragrance and I always think of her when I spray or dab it on. second, my husband is allergic to so many fragrances but not this one. so I know I will not be causing him a sinus/sneezing attack when I apply it.

but also it's such a soft, pleasant, feminine, unobtrusive fragrance. it's not one of those fragrances that makes someone say "what the heck does she have on?"

it just makes me smile.

p.s. I also have the new Chanel #5 L'Eau. it is a beautiful fragrance as well.

@KittyPurry, I too am a lover of Chanel No. 5.. it, to me, is a very soft fragrance and one to not be worn over powering. I also indulge myself with the bath powder- my oh my- the delicate scent is wonderful- I put a little on my decollete.

When I was a teenager, some dear friends bought me my first bottle and I was hooked.

I prefer the Eau Premiere version of Chanel because it is distinctively lighter. The original version is pretty but I find with my body chemistry it is much too strong. I think everyone is different but I would get a sample and see how it wears after 8 hours.

I love it because it smells lovely in the bottle and on me. Some fragrances will change when I put them on to the point that by the end of the day I do not recognize what I put on. However Chanel is the same all day. I have always received compliments when I wear it. It is my favorite and I always have it. I love fragrances so I purchase several however Chanel I always have.

My mother wore it.

But more often now I wear Chanel Chance.

It is a soft, sweet scent. My mother wore it. It makes me hapy to catch a whiff of Chanel No. 5 every now and then.

While it's interesting to hear others' opinions about a scent, it really is a very individual choice. Try getting a sample and wearing it for a while before purchasing.

I wear #5 Eau de Premiere and L'Eau exclusively and seasonally.

Love it-mature yet fragrant and smell wonderful on me.

I love this perfume. Almost all others turn really bad on me. This one doesn't; I have asthma and am very sensitive to most "smells" and this happens to be one that doesn't turn me off or cause a bad reaction. Also, this is the one and only fragrance that my husband prefers I wear, so much so he gave me a bottle of the real perfume. He actually went to a store and tested the spray and the perfume. He said the spray didn't have the same scent as the little bottle of the real stuff. So he paid the higher price!!
