Careprost Question

i just started using this the other night. from reading all the threads on this, i put a drop in the cap and applied it with a thin liner brush.

but...it seems to be irritating my eyes. they feel "sore" after applying it and stay that way til i wash it off the next day. am i applying too much product or using it incorrectly...or do you think i am just irritated by it in general and should stop using it? TIA
