I believe HSN still allows orders to be cancelled by midnight of the same day of the order.  Wonder how long that will last.  They are so much more customer-friendly than QVC.  Got another 20% off coupie today, for example.  And on their craft days, $5 maximum shipping of craft items for the entire day.  And you don't even have to order all at once.  You can go in and out all day long and their sophisticated computer system recalculates the shipping.  (That $5 gets pro-rated across all your craft orders for that day.)

I have been shopping at HSN for years...NEVER had a CS that was rude...always nice and accomodating! I also got a coupon, already spent it...lol! They are always customer friendly! Heart

@Krimpette.  I think you'll find that policy no longer exists.  They are standardizing all the Q/HSN policies & procedures.

@Kachina624  I guess that changed recently.  I don't cancel often, but did cancel an order late in the day in the middle of May.  Sorry to hear that they have changed that "perk".

Re: Cancelling an order..HSN/QVC

For me, I kind of understand both ways.  I have wanted to cancel an item soon after ordering it but could not Smiley Mad but I have also wanted to buy something that maybe someone who wasn't sure if they really wanted it (knowing they could cancel) took the item out of inventory.  So I guess the quick to no cancel policy will make me be more sure of what I am buying and maybe others too.

@Krimpette , you nailed it on the head!  HSN’s computer system is FAR superior to the Q’s plus they have a well understood policy of being able to cancel by midnight of the day ordered.

Q’s system is SO ANTIQUATED that I swear they must hand-crank it every night night at midnight to get it to update.

As I’ve noted on other threads, Qurate setting QVC as the paradigm that HSN must now emulate slowly but surely in a big MISTAKE.  I’m ordering less from both because of the unfriendly policies.  Too bad, as I’ve found a lot more products of interest on H instead of Q.

ETA:  Plus I find the QUALITY at HSN SUPERIOR to Q!

Re: Cancelling an order..HSN/QVC

There used to be a law stating that you have 24 hours to cancel an order for an item that is a mail order purchase. Maybe it is not valid anymore? I don't know but I have had that issue in the past with QVC. I don't order much from QVC due to the individual shipping prices and the fact that many of their items can be found for significantly less at other places. If I am going to have something sent to me I will buy  from a place that gives free shipping on orders that come to a reasonable amount and I don't mean $100 or more!  I don't see how they can say an order is going into processing so quickly when it takes forever to receive orders from QVC. It takes days before the package gets sent to the shipper! Then it is a week more before receiving it because they use the cheapest delivery route possible. My orders that are sent from southern PA go hundreds of miles out of the way before then coming into my area only to be given to the post office to deliver. Many times they end up sitting at the PO over the weekend before they are delivered. Very frustrating.

Seems like in this merger the worst of each channel is becoming the policy.

Re: Cancelling an order..HSN/QVC

QVC made a change on their cancelling and if you need to cancel you have to do it quickly (I believe under 1 hour maybe less).  I think it stinks but the Q must be desperate for sales.
