But of course you can send it back for a refund....which takes 5-6 weeks after they receive the returned item to process. I accidentally order two of the same thing late November. By the time that my order arrived, and I sent the order back, I got a refund from Sephora mid February.

You are spot on about Sephora. They have never responded to any of my emails over the years, so I call or return.

It's maddening.

How frustrating and upsetting--I hope you are able to resolve things.

Re: Cancellation? Are you kidding me?

Just try again to cancel when this happens. Sometimes if I just try again just right away it goes through. If not, the next few hours for sure. RARELY they may ship in 24 hours.

Re: Cancellation? Are you kidding me?

Trying to cancel too soon on the Q often doesn't work because "the Order isn't fully in the system yet". And @hsn, when u want to exchange an Item, you simply call CS. and immediately, at no cost, they will ship out the exchange! often before you have even mailed the original back. The Q definitely makes us wait...n...wait, and by the time they "process the Return," the size I want is long gone. They definitely don't trust the customer, although , for example, if we did Not return original Item they could just charge our CC, as I'm sure hsn would do.

Re: Cancellation? Are you kidding me?

I cancelled a vacum and on Tuesday and this morning I received a text message stating 'This is an order confirm for ....'. I checked the account and the item still says CANCELLED and the money was not deducted from my debit.

Maybe there is a problem with the system. I know I have tried to cancel an item without success only to return and try again and the cancelation went through.

Re: Cancellation? Are you kidding me?

QVC started this when they changed the shipping rates. I had this happen to me when I ordered a jewelry item. I could not cancel 10 minutes after I ordered. I got the item and liked it and kept it, but I learned a new lesson. The Q has changed to rules to prevent people from canceling items too much so now you can't cancel unless you call customers service to do it for you.I bet they are keeping tabs on people who do call to cancel and after so many they will get "the letter" the same one that people get for returning to many items.

I think the best bet for all of us is to either put the item on our wish list first or put in in your cart and you have an hour before it leaves the cart to make a decision. These changes are here because of the many Q customers who have abused the system over the years--now we must all suffer for it.

Re: Cancellation? Are you kidding me?

Just happen to me a second ago with sandals. Got sucked in and they are ugly. I ask myself are you stupid ? When I shop in stores very careful with my purchases. But, when I watch home shopping I get sucked in. But, I tried it again and the system let me cancel seconds later !!!

Re: Cancellation? Are you kidding me?

I've had this happen as well. If you're looking at your order online, press cancel and even if it tells you it's in process, click again on cancel or go to the next screen and it will cancel. It has worked every time I did this. Hope that makes sense...

Re: Cancellation? Are you kidding me?

Thank you for all the replies. I called first thing in the morning and talked to customer service, and they said they were sorry, but "for some reason" even though it had only been a couple of hours, it was not able to be canceled. I was welcome to return when it comes if I want to... Lesson learned, next time I will leave in wish list until I read reviews, which I think for the most part are very honest. There are those few people who don't like anything...lol and they seem to get called out about it on here, which always makes me laugh. Hoping I love what I ordered, but if not, I will return. I have never returned enough items to get "the Letter" Of course, the item that could not be canceled is not due for delivery will not be here for another 10 days. Like I said, lesson learned!
