Re: Can't Change my mind & cancel

This has just been happening recently. It says "in process" for 4 days and meanwhile it's too far along to stop it!!! Ridiculous!

Re: Can't Change my mind & cancel

Many, many stores don't offer the ability to cancel an order once it's placed.  I personally don't have a problem with that.  I don't even bother to check a cancellation policy prior to ordering from a website because it's not imporatant to me.  I always make sure I know the return/refund policy as that's imperative.

Here is QVC's Cancellation Policy:

To cancel an item, access the Order Status link in the upper right-hand corner of any QVC.com page. Sign in with your email address and password. Click on the order number and select the item you wish to cancel. If a cancellation is possible, you will be presented with the Edit This Item link. At that point, you can select the "Cancel" button. If the order is too far along in the shipping process to cancel, the link will not be presented and the item will be shipped to you as scheduled. Upon receiving the package, should you decide to make a return, please follow the instructions on your pack slip.

I think the key words here are "If a cancellation is possible."  For as long as I can remember, some items ship directly from the manufacturer and could not be cancelled.

If this happened to me and I couldn't cancel within two hours, I would call CS and ask for a price adjustment.

I think it has to do with the time of day you place the order. I have placed an order during a show and tried to cancel it at the end of the show and was told by customer service that it was too late. Other times I was allowed to cancel the next day. It is strange since it takes up to a week for them to ship an item out.Smiley Happy

Re: Can't Change my mind & cancel

Previously it was possible to cancel an item for several days after ordering.

Many times I ordered something, waited and checked for days, still nothing happening, and decided I did not want to wait any longer or changed my mind and re-thought the purchase and cancelled successfully online.

I have a hunch they realized that allowing that time frame of days to cancel was making a huge dent in the sales.  Chances are if the item actually ships people don't bother to return it, even a whim purchase.

Now I really really consider making a purchase, knowing I can't cancel it, even within hours.

Of course it still sits "in process" for days before it is shipped and one can do nothing.  Yes, I have called CS but they say the same thing, not possible to cancel after what, 2 hours?  Ridiculous.

So.....I order far less, keep returning things I would have cancelled had I been able to, and miss out on things that sell out because I can't decide fast enough knowing it is impossible to cancel if I reconsider the purchase.

This new policy?  It's probably saving me money......!

@Lipstickdiva .... within an hour of placing the order? Q can’t contact the manufacturer that quickly. No orders are processed that quickly or they’d be ready to be shipped and that wouldn’t be a separate issue here.

The same thing has happened to me on many occasions.  I’m thinking it has more to do with the particular item and possibly which warehouse it’s coming from.

And right now I think there are so many changes going on with  QVC that things are even more confusing.

Re: Can't Change my mind & cancel

I didn't read all of these posts, just some hidder and datter.   But I did learn one good thing.   Think about it long and hard before I order.   I fear the item selling out somtimes.   But now, if it sells out, it sells out.   Only order for the season,  somthing better will come along.   Lesson learned   Smiley Wink
