Can only some kinds of Wen cause hair loss problems?

I've been using Wen for years, mainly the Cranberry Mint fragrance.  No hair loss problems whatsoever.  Now I switched to Fall Apple about two months ago.  I'm noticing hair loss, right now we have navy sheets on the bed and DH even commented on how much hair I seem to be losing.  Just single strands here and there, no clumps.

I personally do not use WEN, and never have, but I have read a lot of complaints about hair loss with people using WEN.  Also, there have been lawsuits against the company for this reason. Maybe somebody who uses WEN can give you their experience with the product.

Not a Wen user, but I'll just throw this out. I'm losing more hair than usual, and I recently read a NYT article about unusual hair loss becoming more prevalent. It's being blamed on stress.

All I know is that I hate wearing hats, but I'll have to start this winter because my hair won't keep my head warm enough. Smiley Sad

You couldn't pay me enough to ever use a wen product again. I tried it once and it almost ruined my hair. Fortunately my hairdresser noticed a change in the texture and health of my hair and asked what I changed, and when I said I changed to wen she said stop and throw that stuff away. I know many are devoted users and it's fine if it works for you. Just my experience.

@depglass, We all have different chemical sensitivites, and some shampoos have some very harsh ingredients that can harm our scalp and hair follicles.  If you have suddenly noticed a negative change in your hair, you should stop using the new product immediately.  Don't question yourself.  Question the product.  Never doubt yourself.

I have switched to a minimal ingredient shampoo that does not make me experience greater-than-usual hair loss -- Alaffia.   But what works for me, might be terrible for someone else.  Keep trying until you find what minimizes your hair loss.  Best wishes for success in your search!

I'm no expert on WEN ingredients, but it seems like a change in versions might cause some kind of allergic type reaction.  But as others have suggested, I would stop using it at least for now.  I've read on the boards about Briogeo, which sounds gentle -- think it had apple in the name.

Rather then throw them away...I have been  using my Wen to shave my legs and underarm....no longer use on my head....

Could be genetic hair loss.

What about your comb & brush?

@depglass   Stop using immediately is my suggestion.  That would definitely scare me.

When you think about it, it is like you are using a conditioner to wash your hair.  I hate to think of the build up on your hair.  I purchased Wen once and when I read the directions, I immediately sent it back.  Rinse with cool water, I don't think so especially in the winter.

Get yourself a shampoo that takes care of build up or rinse your hair in apple cider vinegar and water (half & half).  Good luck.  Go back to shampoo -- it's healthier.
