Calista Tools Perfecter -Anyone have a better way to clean it?

I do love using the Perfecter, however due to the styling products I use, it needs cleaning often and I was wondering if anyone came up with a better way of cleaning it besides the cotton swab way. I do wish the barrel came off and I could immerse it. Thanks for any suggestions!

What about turning it on, let it heat, then let it cool a bit, spray with alcohol and use a gentle scrub brush like a bottle brush or a veggie brush to get more at one time. I use a hair pick to get the hair out, but the hair product gets into and on to everything. I do submerge my brushes and combs to get the hair oil and products out. I soak them in kitchen dish soap due to hair oils being oil so the dish soap breaks it down well. Hot water helps as well.
