Calista Tools Hot Rollers...

I received my hot rollers and tried it for the first time today. I was prepared to return immed. if they didn't live up to the sell. I really like them. I have a short bob, and it really gives my hopelessly flat hair some volume. I have baby fine hair, and if it works for me it would work for anybody. I kept them in on high for 20 minutes. Shiny and some volume. Know they're pricey but think they're worth it.

I also have her Perfector and am happy with that, too. Merry Christmas to me!

I'm still waiting for my set. I bought the long ones. I hope they work for me because I've been reading the reviews and I am really scared I will be one of those that ends up regretting making that purchase.

Re: Calista Tools Hot Rollers...

I just tried them and they are great! My hair is about the same length as Antonella's hair but I have more layers. I bought the long rollers, and since I have permed color treated hair, I used the low setting just to see what it would do.....van van bamboo! I have volume and a little curl, but my hair looks great! I still love The Perfector, but these curlers are great: I really was not expecting anything from the low heat setting-the curlers felt warm, and I did feel them once they were in, but I have used "burn my fingers" hot curlers that didn't do what these did. I can't wait to see what I get on the high setting! Poodlepet2

Re: Calista Tools Hot Rollers...

I wanted to try these but passed because I was sure they wouldn't work for my hair type.

I have fine, thin, poker straight hair. I'd like to see these rollers on someone with my hair type who doesn't have product build up in her hair. Take just washed, blow-dryed hair and use the rollers and see if they do anything.

I had that styling brush and returned it because it did nothing for my hair if it was freshly washed and dried. It only worked on my second day hair with some product build-up and some bend/curl to it from the day before.

One day I'll give these rollers a whirl. I need to find something to use on my hair that isn't as damaging as a flat iron or curling iron.

Re: Calista Tools Hot Rollers...

I got these a while ago so they may be a slightly different incarnation. I have thin, fine hair with a little wave to it. The first few times I used them my hair had incredible volume and curl. The volume/curl would last a few hours, which is actually a good result for my hair.

However, after a week or so my hair stopped holding the volume/curl for longer than a half-hour. After about a month of daily use, the clips started leaving dents in my hair. I couldn't avoid these dents no matter how I positioned the rollers or the clips. It was weird, kinda like my hair just got tired of the rollers!

Re: Calista Tools Hot Rollers...

Lipstick Diva, if you have fine straight hair, you really need to use some kind of product in it to give it texture and hold. My hair was just like yours and I couldn't live without a perm. When my hair was not permed, nothing worked-and I mean nothing. With age, my hair has changed. I really don't know how much gray I have, but it's there: the upside is that I have more texture than I ever had before.....but still not enough to live a more "hair care free" life.Smiley Happy That is why I perm, but I don't use hair appliances without mousse(I use Matrix Volumzing) and heat protector ( I have several: they all work, but they also add additional texture and hold. After styling, there is spray-an absolute must. When you have fine straight hair, there is no style that will hold without product. Poodlepet2

Re: Calista Tools Hot Rollers...

I just made a delightful discovery. I have the original set and I spent a lot of money buying additional short rollers. I was thinking this morning as I was rolling my hair, there are some places where they would be easier to use than the long ones....but then I started thinking that because she changed the size of the platform, she probably changed something with the rollers so that we would have to spend more-but she didn't!!! Yeah for Maria!!! The old ones fit just fine!!! I can't wait to try these on the high heat setting! Poodlepet2

Could you put pictures up of what you use? Are they available at Walmart? Many thanks!{#emotions_dlg.wub}
