COOL PEEL CO2 LASER

[ Edited ]

Hi all.

Has anyone tried the newer and lighter Co2 laser called "cool peel"?

You do about 4 sessions a month apart.  It has little downtime.  At most a day of redness like sunburn.  It's much less side effect than the older "fraxel laser".

He said he would give me the first treatment free which would be about $800.00 each session. He  thinks I would need 3 more.

I have one age spot on side of face and some red ones that I would like to get rid of. Like actinic keratosesn(pre cancer - which woud eliminate that problem for some years)  It will last several years with glowing, smooth skin and take away all fine lines making for a more youthful appearance.

I'm doing my first next Friday.  They gave me 10 ampules of a liquid I am to put on my face twice a day for 5 days before procedure.  I have no plans on going out Friday night as I'm quite fair and will be red a bit longer. Im sure.

Any one here who has had this procedure I would bo happy to hear from you.

Thanks.

@Pink123  I hadn't heard about this before, but it does sound really interesting!  Please report back after you've had your first session and ongoing!    Will you have your whole face done?  Neck/chest?  Eyes?

Do you know what is in the ampules that the dr. gave you to apply to your skin?   What is the purpose?

Hi Pink,

Is your provider A board certified cosmetic surgeon or dermatologist?

I hope so. I have read about nightmare results at those " beauty spas."

I had the very powerful Fraxel laser peel for $2500 by my plastic surgeon who did a wonderful job on my upper eyelids.

She was careful to say " everyone's results will vary."

I saw NONE of the benefits that claim, " lighten or remove discoloration, remove fine lines and will stimulate collagen."

I told my doctor on a follow up that I was very disappointed.

Good luck!

Yes @ellaphant  he is a double board certified plastic surgeon and very talented. Sorry I should have said plastic surgeon.

I would not go to one of these dermatologist spas ever.

@moonandthestars  I'm sorry I should have mentioned he is a plastic surgeon double board certified.  I would not have anything else or trust it.

No it's not for eyelids, more for spots in face, redness, etc.  It used to be brutal and take a long recovery but many years have past and so they lighten the procedure to suit your needs.  I'm only doing it to get rid of some rosacea spots and brown age ones, plus all fine lines around the face including mouth. Benefits are a smoother glowy flawless skin.

I'm pretty sure treatements are for invidividual needs.  He said 4 for me as I'm very fair.

As far as the ampules twice a day I'm to put it on first thing in morning and then at bedtime for 5 days.  You put on your makeup over it in daytime.  I asked the nurse.  She says it makes the skin feel very soft. It's a mild clear liquid. I'll let you know.

The Plastic surgeon, not a nurse will do it for me and therefore can make the level higher or lower as to what my needs are.  I only have one brown age spot on my upper left side  and he will   work harder on that one.

He is highly regarded.

Ps. @moonandthestars  you can do it on your chest if it's freckly, wrinkly.  I got out of thre sun early and so no I do not need it.

But it does work on the decollette and hands, etc as well if you need it.

Mine was on the face not eyelids. It was the high power Faxel laser. No results.

No results. Best of luck!

@ellaphant Isn't Fraxel one of the ones that can also tighten skin?  That's what I need.  Beginning to get jowels and marionette lines.  I hear it's painful, and it nothing I have looked at in the past seemed to have long lasting results to make it worth my while.  I realize it doesn't stop the aging process, but I didn't expect it to be that short.

No, A Faxel laser is for skin surface only. Nothing will tighten and firm skin but cosmetic surgery. I too have slight marionette  lines. A SMALL amount of filler made them disappear. I dont look ' puffy' or weird. Get a consult with a plastic surgeon or dermatologist. They are usually free.

Years ago I had a 'laser lift' where a YAG laser tightened my skin, neck and eyes. Went through several monthly treatments. I could probably use a another treatment on my lower face to tighten the jaw area.

That was one of the best things I ever did to improve my appearance. That  and a smile makeover.Woman Very Happy

@SilleeMee  I too used lasers years ago.  I started with the facial rejuvenation laser (forgot the name but it was about 6 treatments).  Then a year later moved on to the really good

"Thermage".

They constantly reinvent theselves.  What I'm doing is an easier version of the years old C02 laser peel which took months of redness, peeling, etc.  Yes, the results are amazing like a facelift  but it is a rough timesome procedure with months of downtime many cannot endure including  myself. lol

I'm going to ask him for my first session to crank it down and then gradually work my way up in intensity.

PS.  I put the first ampule on last night.  It's really a thick moisturizer and had no reaction this morning.  Put another one on, let it soak in and put on my makeup.
