For decades I've heard nothing but how easy and painless cataract surgery was. It's a breeze they said. It's painless they said. Well, it wasn't for my husband and sounds like that's also not the case for you two. In fact I'm having to make him an appt with his Dr. He says something just isn't right.
Everyone is different. I had it done to both eyes last year and went back to work the next day. I had no pain whatsover, just a bit of awkwardness with the drops.

Shanus, so sorry to hear this, I had not seen this before, so please forgive me, My heart goes out to you, what the heck happened. I had 2 last year with no issues, so sorry your outcome got complicated. I wore my eye makeup 5 days later minus the mascara. Feel better fast.
People take this surgery for granted that it is always a piece of cake, but I know people that have gone thru complications. I had numbing drops in my eyes, no other anesthesia or tranquilizer, my choice.

I also have that problem every time my eyes are dilated so I walk around for 24 hours or more with dark eyes instead of blue. ❤️

Me too, my eyes stay dilated for about 24 hours too.

It's too bad you asked to be knocked out, @Shanus. The numbing eye drops and sedation I had were more than adequate during my recent procedures, which were two weeks apart. I am still doing drops in the one eye.
I have a dog, too, and stooped down when necessary to care for him but my husband took on most everything.
I am enjoying my much improved vision.

Ask for compounded eyedrops, @goldensrbest, although they will cost more. Mine were used three times a day at first, then two times a day, then once a day.

I didn't know you were having eye surgery. I'm sorry for your discomfort and I hope you heal up quickly.

@Shanus So it sounds like you had cataract surgery done, maybe both eyes? I had both of mine done end of July, first week in August. Drops yes, a lot for a month but if your drops are like mine, you whittle the down by one being finished the first week, having only two different drops after that. The 2nd one drops out after week two. The drops are very important for healing and protecting against inflamation.
The process is not at all that bad, 15 minutes each eye if that long. Seeing better the very next day? Priceless.
No driving for a week or so, NO makeup for a month, you CAN use your creams, lotions, potions, serums, just be careful around your eyes. I think this is doable, no I KNOW it's all doable.
And to be able to get back to driving AND SEE while you're driving, THIS will get be back on the road with NO restrictions!!!! Now THAT is worth it's weight in gold for me!

If no makeup, SPF and bending over to pick up dog poop are the worst of you worries consider yourself to be blessed.
