The vast majority of fragrances on the market are made for a celebrity or by a celebrity company. Big designers ARE CELEBRITIES.
No, teenage girls are not the target market. The target market is what the "market will bear." Meaning anyone who wants to and can afford said item."
I usually don't seek out celebrity nothing, however, If I find something that I happen upon and I like it, I will purchase. This includes clothing, scents, etc. I don't part with coins unless I like what I'm buying. Periodttttt.
Chanel
Christian Dior
Tom Ford
Oscar De La Renta
Ralph Lauren
Burberry
Bulgari
Elizabeth Taylor White Diamonds
Estee Lauder Pleasures and many others
all of the above are celebrities or were celebrities if they are no longer living.
Jennifer Lopez
Usher
Dolly Parton
Paris Hilton
Nicki Minaj
Halle Berry
Justin Timberlake
Jessica Simpson
hundreds more.

Right , too sick of hearing this one or that one recommended this brand or wore this suggests that. If anything this makes me turn off or scroll away from the item. I dislike celebrity endorsements. These days too many perfumes endorsed by everyone. Tough to find a fragrance that is true to its original formula. Happy shopping
More than once I've come across a fragrance that has definitely had their formula modified. Cutting costs, or hard to get ingredients are part of it, but it's such a disappointment when "it isn't what it used to be".

Amen to "it isn't what it used to be " I find many change or cheapen formulas over time. I believe better formulations are put into the samples sold or given out than the later made ones.
I noticed HSN had many 'celebrity' perfumes this year. I rarely buy any unless I recieve a sample or can try a sampler in a store(harder to find lately).
The commercials give me a laugh though (plethora around Christmas .My husband comments when he has observed some of them -- if the cologne makes one act like that --perhaps it shouldn't be purchased.
