gel manicure? Or tips with gel overlay? Or some other enhancement?

I never found a reason to "decorate" my nails.
A good manicure in a neutral tone never competes with clothing or jewelry.
Maybe you should get a few tattoos, lol. ![]()

I see a lot of women getting designs every time I go to the salon. They are paying $80 to $100 to get their nails done.
I would love to do that occasionally but just can't. It's just way too expensive.

I think they are kind of cute----but also think they would get in the way and maybe snag on something---I have gotten cute little flowers done on my big toes but they were flat. I prefer neutral no design nails--have ugly hands and don't need any attention to them. I have gotten chrome nails that are so pretty and last time got cat's eye polish--the type that use a magnet to get that effect. Am due back this week for a fill but think I will do regualr gel polish this time. My nails have the gel overlay---as the real nails are horribly weak and full of ridges--couldn't grow them out to save my soul. Using gel polish is the best--never does the color chip off.

I have eight tattoos. Probably that's enough haha. Good point about the neutral mani

And it's temporary ... lasts only 2-3 weeks! And then it's gone with the next manicure.
Okay, if we get our hair streaked that's temporary too, but that lasts months, not weeks.
More bang for your buck.
JMO, of course.

do you ever get a French manicure with the gel or do you prefer color? How much do your appts cost? I'm spending a butt load of money on wt loss medication. Can't afford super expensive nails too

I have long, strong natural nails since high school, use old fashioned polish every 2 weeks get a pro mani, nothing fancy, just whites and pastels in warm months and darks in colder months.

Yep and what amazes me is all the High School girls that spend this crazy amount of money on their nails. I see them all the time..and in the Summer it's a Mani and a Pedi.
Last Summer I was in there and a teenager spent $180 (mani/pedi with designs on both). She had to call her Mom to bring her more money.

Been going to the same salon for over 10 years and have been wearing a french manicure for all 10 of those years. Every once in a while she adds a holly sprig, a patriotic firework or some sort of decoration, but that is very seldom. I'm very boring . . .
