@monicakm The Hourglass is a beautiful color. Does it have a bit of shimmer in it?

Makes me think that Bobbi Brown has a new line of tinted balms.

I'd bet you're right.  Of all the makeup artists and so-called experts I've ever heard speak, I think BB is one of the less credible.  Some of her comments just don't ring true, or it's just too much of a generalization to apply to all women.  Not a fan.

@nrm

Thank you, yes it does have a bit of shimmer.  I think I'm about halfway through my second tube.

I live in a active senior community in Florida  and most of the women don't wear much makeup.  The ones that do look more alive.  My 86 year old neighbor wears lipstick in  a bright color and it makes her look like she is still cares about life and is healthy. I think as we age we need color or we just fade away.  Every lip balm I have tried never does much as far as color but I have ordered Geller jelly balm.

I agree. I started wearing Burt's Bees lip balms and  love them. I like them much better than lipstick and nourishing your lips at the same time. I also like glosses.  I was never a fan of lipstick anyway.

@smoochy   Weird since Bobbi started her original line w/ 10 lipsticks. As time passes, lip lines and wrinkles do make a full coverage lippie more difficult to wear.

Many years ago, I changed to a Clinique lipstick that was somewhat lighter coverage and of course it was discontinued. I have a few Chanel ones that are light in coverge, hydrating. Most of the time it's a lip liner smudged in and a sheer lipstick, balm or gloss. I'm not fond of lip oils, though.

OK, I just have to say it...Bobbi Brown could use some make-up with color for herself.

When I see her commercials for Jones Road, she looks washed out to me.

I agree.  OTOH, @Major Shopper, I think Rose Marie Swift (RMS Beauty) looks terrific.  Yes, she has some wrinkles, but I think her skin is beautiful.  She keeps her makeup soft, and really owns that striking red lip.  I've adopted that softer makeup style for myself, but wear an assortment of lip colors.

Long ago Laura Geller had a lipstick I loved, Sweet Berry.  I wore it until I could no longer find it.  I then bought a Bare Minerals kit at QVC, the Lovescape collection and the lipstick in there was one I'm still wearing daily, Marvelous Moxie in Chase Your Dreams.  I bought up all I could find and store them in the refrigerator!  LOL  I do buy a Chanel Lippie occasionally, previously from a spring collection a very light balm and just got a gorgeous lipstick from the winter collection.  I am not a bright lipstick person, but this one looks fabulous with my complexion, Rouge Allure L'Extrait High Intensity Refillable Lip in 917 Rose Boreal.  I also bought the winter Le Vernis nail color Charmer, it is gorgeous.
