...that full coverage lipstick is ageing to older women. She thinks tinted lip balms are the way to go. A softer look with a moist looking hint of color. I tend to agree. I stopped wearing lipsticks quite a while ago in favor of tinted balms. I have been using Doll 10. Ordered a few less expensive brands from Amazon- cover girl, elf, neutrogena. Today I wore Rhubarb shimmer balm by Burt's Bees.
what are your faves?

I am an older woman.  I don't care if something is aging for me.  I'm aging for me already and happy to say I am!  So I wear what I like!

@Sooner maybe I should have clarified that I was speaking for myself when I said I agreed with BB. On me, I feel like a tinted balm is more flattering. Of course you should wear what you like.

Don't get me wrong, I like my lipsticks and won't quit them, but I've also worn Laura Geller Jelly Balms and Doll 10 Lip Balms for awhile and recently started with a few shades of RMS Lip Balms.  That's enough.

Makes me think that Bobbi Brown has a new line of tinted balms.

I tend to agree with this. I recently purchased a lipstick from Chanel and was very disappointed in how it looked.

I had extensive dental surgery this week and have been forced to forgo lipstick. I look fine without it and am seriously thinking about switching to a gloss @fairydogmother . Looking forward to suggestions.💐

Just speaking for myself, I don't find that lip balms stay on my lips as long as lipstick.  They seem to just disappear in a short time.

@fairydogmother

I haven't worn a lipstick since maybe 2004 or 5. My Last lipstick was an Urban Decay glittery lipstick. All I've worn ever since is tinted lip balms and gloss.  This hourglass lip gloss in the color Cosmic over elf perfect pink lip balm has been my go to lip look for the last two outings.  The main reason I wear a lip tint under the glosses so I'll still have color on my lips when the gloss wears off and before I can reapply. I just had a scare thinking hourglass had discontinue this color. It's not on Sephora but it's still on The Hourglass website.

I just discovered Lancome Lip Idole Squalane which is basically a tinted lip balm.  I love it!  If I want it to last longer I put it on top of a traditional lipstick. I picked the color nude now which is a pink color.
