Bobbi Brown's original lipstick line going bad...

For me this original line seems to turn rancid faster than any other lipsticks I own. The ones with the square black case and the the gold band in the middle. They develop that horrid old crayon smell and get dry and gummy. Yuck! I don't think I've ever had a Lancome lipstick turn and I have some GWP ones over 10 years old I just found that are fine. Had very few Clinique lipsticks turn. Is this a common problem with these particular lipsticks? Hope the new Rich SPF 12 line holds up better!
