@monicakm  Thank you, Monicakm ! It really is sad that such a  magnificent Macy's location will be closing down- I will make sure to enjoy it even more while it lasts. I get very attached to the places that I go and so this will definitely hit me when it closes- its almost going to be like a romantic breakup!

Aw. Bless your heart. As an adult, I've never lived in a city environment where I could create emotional ties to businesses.  Before I was able to afford higher end makeup, I would spend hours in Foley's with my mother at the makeup counters. Her favorites where Shiseido and Lancome. My memory of those times in that store were of my beautiful mother going from counter to counter with sales ladies hoping to get to work with her and they all would go on and on and on about her beautiful complexion and how young she looked.

@monicakm  Thank you for sharing the story about you and your lovely mother spending time at Foley's cosmetics department .  I love that you and your mom are beautiful and glamorous- it must've been nice to go from counter to counter and socialize with the cosmetics sales associates.  Shiseido and Lancome are very, very nice brands.  Did you like makeup even as a little girl? Beleive it or not, I didn't start wearing makeup until I was 17 and before that I was tomboyish and anti-makeup- look at me now, I put on a full glam face of makeup everyday- even to do my workouts .

@monicakm what wonderful memories.  When i was a younger woman and started buying department store cosmetics there was a Sales associate at Estee Lauder named Gail.  I will never forget her.  Striking woman with tons of good tips.  She taught me the value of getting the right look and scent for you.  She worked at the counter when Lauder Sales associates wore the smock like dresses with pocket hankies.  I just loved this look,  When she retired she called me and asked me to stop by the counter she had something for me.  She called me on her last day so she was gone when I got there. (this is before cell phones so I had to go home and get my messages) I went to the store and she had a box for me.  She had washed and pressed all of pocket hankies and gave me coach bag that she carried and i admired!  I still have both the bag and hankies and wear them proudly!!

You must have really stood out to her as a precious individual.  So sweet of her to have left you the things you admired most.  I thought you wee going to say she left you a box of samples but I'm sure the other items have much more meaning to you.
