Blow dryer with low setting to use a diffuser?

My old blow dryer started sparking at the cord, so I went searching for blowdryers yesterday. I bought one that came with a diffuser made by Conair. I thought it would be great, but there is no way I can use it with the diffuser. The airflow is way too powerful on the lowest setting, my hair was blowing everywhere. I need to go get a different one today. I have naturally curly hair, so I need a low setting to use a diffuser. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Re: Blow dryer with low setting to use a diffuser?

I recently purchased a new hairdryer, One 'n Only Brazilian Tech Keratin Hairdryer from Sally Beauty. Like it a lot but it doesn't come with a diffuser. So, I purchased the Ion Universal Diffuser, also at Sally Beauty, and they work beautifully together.

The hair dryer has cold, warm and hot settings and low/high settings. The diffuser works great with the low setting, doesn't blow my hair around and fits snugly to the dryer.

An estimated 700,000 people around the world, 400,000 of them children, have died so far due to the discontinuation of the USAID program.

Thanks, Sweet Susie! I will look at Sally's, too!

Re: Blow dryer with low setting to use a diffuser?

Well, I took the first blow dryer back, and bought a second one. I'm having the same problem I did with the first one. The lowest setting is still way too powerful to use with a diffuser. Any ideas?

Hi Sue98,

I use the Conair Plimatic Mitt Diffuser. You can find them online at Sally and problaby other places online.

It fits over the nozzle of the blowdryer, like a sock. The mesh of the fabric is denser than the holes of a plastic diffuser, therefore, there is less air flow and more concentrated heat. It's alot less bulky too!

I use the highest setting of air flow without any problems. My hair doesn't move much at all.

I keep it on my blowdryer because they don't make them as sturdy as they used to but they are still a great bang for the buck!

hth!

Re: Blow dryer with low setting to use a diffuser?

I got a Revlon Dryer with a diffuser at Ulta's for around 20.00. I love it. It has a low setting also.

I just checked and they are 24.99 now but they still have it with 2 diffusers.
