I am not a sunworhsiper, but I do go to out town pool several times a week, I sit with a hood over my chair. I use Nutrogena Clear Face, and wash my face every night, I am starting to feel an abundance of little black heads. My skin is very sensitive and I am afraid to scrub. Any advice thanks

Re: Blackheads from sunscreen

Google whiteheads and blackheads.  It explains it better than we posters here could.

If your getting blackheads its clogged pores by oil & dead skin cells.  Maybe an exfoliant is in your future.

Most sunscreens are oil-based products and so they need extra cleansing, especially the pores where the sunscreen can settle and become difficult to remove. Maybe try using a product (toner or pads) with 2% BHA  salicylic acid. That kind of product is very good for cleaning out pores and keep them from getting congested.

I'm sorry @I am still oxox . I just realized you didn't mention using sunscreen. So just ignore the part about sunscreen in my post. But the part about BHAs still applies.Woman Happy

Sitting under the sun with a hood over your chair isn't doing much to prevent sun damage. UV rays are coming at you from all directions and not just from the sun above.UV rays reflect off of objects and the ground/water below you so wearing sunscreen is a good idea.

This toner is a good one. Just use it where you have pore issues or all over your face if you want. I use this as a spot treatment around my nose area where I tend to get congested pores. I apply it with a cotton round, give it a good rub in, leave it on for several minutes and then rinse it off. You can leave it on w/o rinsing...just need to see how your skin reacts with it. My skin is very dry so I rather rinse it off. BHAs can be drying.

SHAKE THE BOTTLE BEFORE USING.

Re: Blackheads from sunscreen

I despise sunscreen so I only wear it when I'm going to be outside for awhile, usually working in the yard, much of which is shady.  My daily moisturized I'm currently using has SOME sunscreen in it.

I currently have Neutrogena Age Shield Face 70 and Neutrogena Sport Face 70+.  Both claim to be oil-free and oxybenzone free.  Don't like the Age Shield one.  It separated the first time I used it, and whatever clear not oil was all that came out of the tube.  So, I have to shake it really well before using. I can also feel it on my face hours later, plus it's not sweat-proof.  I more prefer the Sport Face one.  It doesn't seem to go on or be as heavy as the Face Shield one.  I wouldn't say it's sweat-proof though.  I sometimes have to wear my "Ninja" Mission scarf tied around my forehead to keep it from running into my eyes when I'm working.

In the past, I've used a tinted physical sunscreen Elta MD which I really liked until they changed the formulation.

@Icegoddess

Sunscreen chemicals are oils by design. Most are made from petro.
