Was reading a couple of articles online and they talked about the toxic things in mascaras. And that it would be best to look up online a list of non toxic mascaras. This is good advice especially for things you use around your eyes!

That's interesting. I don't wear mascara as much anymore. Don't like it in my eyes on my face, or poking myself in my eyes.

I can't wear it since my eyes run all day.
Days when I do wear makeup I don't put anything on my eyes.
I wipe all around my eyes with a wet washcloth after I apply makeup to keep it out of my eyes. LOL!!!
I don't wear much makeup anymore. I really don't like it.
I just need to find a good tinted moisturizer I can wear. That's all I need.

List of toxic ingrediants in mascara I found from blogger at
art of organics .
1) Butylpareban, Ethylpareban, Propylpareban
2) Thimerosal
3) Synthetic Dyes
4) Coal Tar Dyes
5) Aluminum Powder
6) Formaldehyde
7) Imidazolidinyl Urea
Might be more but this was on the list I found. There is a list of non toxic mascaras on the the page I found this.

Thanks for the info, ladies. Being born with eye problems that have worsened with age....I have never much liked mascara or eye liner anyway. This validates my apprehension.
My eye doctor, I know, would also approve.
Did wear both on my wedding day, with full makeup. My eyes itched, then burned, until I removed it following the reception.

If we were to listen to all the things that some say are toxic or warnings not to use then there would be practically nothing anyone could use. One article says one thing then others say the opposite. I've had enough of feeling I have to check the ingredients of every product I use (and I'm not talking only about makeup) then finding so much differing information. I think it's up to each individual to decide what they think is not good for them and not get into a hysteria mode about about every little thing.
One thing I don't want in any product, though, is formaldehyde.

I curl my eyelashes and that is it. I wear glasses and don’t want them hitting them.

I figure what goes on my eyelashes is of little significance.

It's not like I'm applying a ton of it so the stuff that goes on my lashes really is insignificant when I look at the scope of things. I would be more concerned with something like body lotions where a lot is being applied all over my body and it stays there for a while.

@CherryHugs I use Origins mascara so I never had any problems and my eyes can be sensitive too. Origin products are based on plants, etc. making the products on the safer side.
