Re: Best time to Scrub

[ Edited ]

@I am still oxox I try to exfoliate with a gentle formula every evening before I go to bed. I also use a Clarisonic every day, so I don't treat the use of sunscreen as a separate time to scrub.

But if I didn't do those two things, I think I would want to scrub/exfoliate after each time I have used sunscreen so there would be no buildup. Heart

Best time to ‘scrub?’

Never.

Exfoliation is over-rated & damaging skin.

I have no problem removing everything I put on my face by using a cleanser. I never use scrubs on my face because my cleanser used with my PopSonic spade takes everything off so easily.

I use an oil cleanser. Oil cleansers are very good at removing things like sunscreen without stripping the skin.

My facialist does not agree with that she says to scrub weekly

I scrub daily (am) using rice enzyme powder as the 2nd step of my double cleanse.  It really gives my skin a nice glow, keeps the dead cells away.  I am a firm believer in exfoliation.  I do the rice powder and then a few times a week a night time mask that exfoliates/peels.

So.....the answer to your question is....’weekly.’

You’ve paid good money to have someone say that.

Why not honor your investment & believe what your ‘facialist’ says?

More info needed, please? What are you using to cleanse the sunscreen off and how often? As to scrubbing, do you want to know: what time of day, how often, what day of the week as related to the weekend...?

A good sunscreen should not build up on your face once you wash it off with an effective cleanser. So I see the buildup issue and the scrub timing issue as possibly different...But not enough info to completely understand.
