I've tried dozens and dozens of brands of protein drinks over the years. My favorite is Premier Protein chocolate, in ready to drink cartons. It is available at Costco, Sam's Club, and (recently) some grocery stores.

How can I know what makes a shake good, or a powder?
I'm diabetic so I'm guessing high protein, low carbs. Yeah, I should go in for a consult with a dietician. But I freak out in those atmospheres. I'll start with shakes and lo-cal smoothies waaay before I'll keep that not-yet-made-appointment.
I don't mean to hijack the OP's thread.
Atkins would be perfect for you.

Unjury brand was recommended to me by a few doctor friends. I guess it's always the best tasting at their medical conferences. I have several containers and they do taste YUM! You mix a scoop with milk, water, almond milk, blablabla and shake. High in protein.
