I use the Acure Organics ""night "" cream (but I use for day under my mineral makeup). I swear this Acure has a tightening effect that I can feel and see. Love this stuff...and smells lovely too...lavender!

Lot of benefits with teas of all colors (ingested & used topically) -- one of which is skin tightening because of the caffeine. I've been making a solution of black tea (Harney & Sons) and squirting on my facial skin every a.m. for a while now.

Since I didn't have anything to lift or firm, I cannot attest to that action, except that I do have firm facial & neck skin. What I can attest to is that what little concealer I was using for a spot or two, I no longer need any. Again, don't know if that little side benefit is from the tea, or from the tea in tandem with other things.

Other topical skin tightening ingredients include algae, DMAE, ivy (and a few more).

This is really interesting, Harpa, thanks for the reminder. I choose skincare products and have devised my routine for what they'll do for the skin itself and immediate underlying tissue - refining the surface, building collagen and elastin. I don't think any cream or topical will ever do a thing for a saggy jowls. My skin is healthy and young looking for my age. I take a hair skin & nails supplement, but often think about it only in terms of what it's doing for my hair and nail growth. I also drink a certain iced green tea and sometimes iced black tea like it's going out of style. In my head, I know those are good for you but then I forget about it because I just like drinking iced tea. What I'm getting at is that I have to agree with you. I don't think anyone can say it's this one thing or product. Otherwise everyone would be doing that one thing, ingesting or applying that one product. We have the liberty to investigate and choose based on our own opinions and results, but it makes sense that what we ingest can work in concert with what we put on our skin and work together for the best results.

Avon's Dramatic Firming Cream ... I've used it for years.

ETA: I also gently massage my face twice a day for a few minutes.

Harpa - I love tea, particularly iced green tea. I had no idea of the topical benefits of tea. How do you make your black tea solution, and what ratios? Do you buy a certain brand? When do you apply it, after cleansing?

Do you notice any staining from the tea application? I'm a dental hygienist and volunteered at the local Chinese Cultural Center, doing cleanings. Tea stains teeth (the back or lingual side) worse than coffee. And it's a hard stain to remove.

Your skincare routine sounds pretty interesting! You must share more with us.

The reason I wanted to use topical tea was for antioxidant protection. No, it does not stain, but I was using it to lightly stain my legs. I think it doesn't stain my facial skin, because I apply L-ascorbic C first. Yes, I know that tea stains teeth, which is why when I drink it I douse tea w/ lemon. Then it doesn't. But since you're a dental hygienist...the acid from the lemon....! (What are you gonna do?)

In any case, I just brew up a small batch (keeps for about a week) and put it in an empty Devita squirt bottle. (I would use the green also, but don't need a hundred things on my skin. Also, I would use green or white if the black stained my facial skin.)

One little squirt mixed in my aloe & oil moisturizer (sometimes I throw in something else) and it's been wonderful.

No special brand necessary, I suppose. I just like Harney & Sons Chocolate, so I've been using that.

I used to use Acure Organics to tighten all my facil loose skin, but then got tired of it eventually. Its cheap, but in the long run, I was shelling out hundreds every year, and I hate overusing cosmetics. You could try natural skin caring options, but the most time saving is laser skin tightening. I had skin tightening treatment in Port Coquitlam at Beauti-med last year. Best money I ever spent.
