@Kitty Galore

I have dry, sensitive skin & recommend Paula's Choice 1% retinol, or her newer 0.3% Retinol + 2% Bakuchiol Treatment (which might be easier for your sensitive skin to acclimate to at first if you're new to retinol).  Either one is great!

I second the Paula's Choice Retinol 1%. I've been using it for years and it works great!

Paula's Choice is my recommendation as well.

Follow the directions on her website and that will help you overcome any issues with using it. Then after that period of adjustment you'll love it. It's where I started when I first used retinol then moved on to Retin-A after that.

I also recommend Paula's Choice Retinol and Bakuchiol Treatment.  Have been using less than a month but haven't had any problems with it and I trust Paula's Choice products and use many.

Alpha Skin Care Enhanced Wrinkle Repair Cream .15% Retinol is a great place to start.  Twenty years ago I tried many different brands and strengths of retinols and Retin A.  The only one my sensitive skin would tolerate at the time was the Alpha.    (Neoteric Cosmetics dot com)

I have since moved on to higher strengths of retinol cream, but used the Alpha for several years first.  It's very gentle.

Anyone new to using this type of product who does have sensitive skin, what kind of issues did you have when you first started using it?  I have rosacea also --- do you think I would be able to use this?  I have been wanting to try one but am really afraid to!

Check out Mad Hippie Vitamin A Serum. I believe it’s a better option than typical retinol.

@Kitty Galore

Good morning . I have sensitive skin . i will soon be 58 and still have acne prone oily skin with large pores and redness from old acne marks . I tried many different retinols over the years which always wound up irritating or over drying my skin. I recently decided to try it a few months ago and I am really liking  the Inkey List Retinol Anti Aging Serum . I have found it to be the most gentle of all I have tried with no irritation . I use it a few nights a week. The price is reasonable at $9.99 for 1 oz. It is sold at Sephora so if you don't care for it you can return . I have a few Inkey List products that I really like . They are a UK company . Below is some the highlights from Sephora website

Highlighted Ingredients:
- RetiStar Stabilised Retinol 1% and Granactive Retinoid 0.5%: Reduces the look of fine lines and wrinkles; slow release formula for low irritating, effective active delivery.
- Squalane: Hydrates and soothes.

@AngelPuppy1

Hi I have sensitive skin (see my relply above  about Inkey List ) . I don't have rosacea but redness from old acne marks and redness around my nose . I have found this product to be very gentle . I folow the Youtube dermatologist Dr Dray . She has a several videos on using retinol. Her recommendations really helped . The way I use it is after throughly cleansing my face I put my moisturizer on to damp skin and then let completely dry . Once my face is completely dry then i put a small amount of retinol on . I avoid the the skin around the lip area and right around my nose . even after a few months I use it about 3  nights . Once the warmer weather comes here in NYC I will slowly start to increase . I had terrible issues with retinols in the past so I am a bit of a chicken .
