I worry about the same thing, happy daze. So much affects my eyes and I frequently have watering due to any number of factors anyway (mostly allergies). However, when I used to use the Shiseido I didn't have any problems with it being near my eyes. And I use a physical sunscreen on my face every single day.

glmama, does the shiseido one have chemical sunscreens in it? One of the reasons I stopped using chemcial sunscreens is because it tends to feel like it is burning my skin but also that they seem to make my eyes water. I can use physical sunscreens on my face all day long but normal SPF moisturizers and lotions are too much around my eyes, probably due to the extra properties they often contain. However, I have been applying Paula's Choice skin recovery moisturizer with SPF down just below my orbital bone now and just to right beneath my lower lashes under my eyes and so far no issues with eye irritation but I'm afraid to take it further down onto my eyelid. Smile

For those that like/want the supergoop eye cream, it is only $22.50 (+$4.47 s/h) for the Super Saturday on QVC. Item # S7291.

Thanks so much, everyone, for the replies and recs.

I've used SkinCeuticals Sheer Fusion SPF on and off for a few years (it is my one other fave, along with JM SPF--two completely different products, really). I've been very happy with the SkinCeuticals that I've tried and I definitely want to check out the eye product.

What I wish is that something existed that was like a lip balm, but for the eye area. Something I could just roll all over my eye area, without the fear of it getting in and stinging, or making me tear up and cry. Hmmmmm? Someone has to come up with this.

My derm recommends a few SkinCeuticals products so I'm always interested when I see something new in their line.

Hi glmama - very interesting thread -- some great recommendations here - and I like your idea about a balm for the eye area. Would be nice to have something in stick form in a non-chemical formula to tuck in the purse. CeraVe makes a mineral sunscreen stick (spf 50) that I haven't tried but is available at drugstore.com among other on-line retailers for about $10. Reviews were mixed, fair skinned folks seem to like it, but darker complected reviewers complained of the dreaded white cast. I'm fair so I'm going to give it a shot. Let us know if you find something you really like and good luck!

Hi griffy--I've read those same mixed reviews about the newer CeraVe products. However, I'm fair, too, so I might give it a whirl at some point.

I use Colorescience Sunforgettable powdered sunscreen. You can buy it in its own dispensing brush to keep in your purse and then you just buy the powder refills. It also works really well to use on the part in your hair. No greasy hair! I think it comes in both SPF 30 & 50. I love it because it's portable and you can reapply without wrecking your makeup!

powder sunscreen seems ideal to me. I really dislike the greasiness I get from the others but I note the powders seem to have some color to them. Is it super noticeable?

I am a very fair red head. I buy the lightest color in the Colorescience Sunforgettable I think it's called "" almost clear"". It is not noticeable on me or my children(or my hair)! The brush is expensive but after the initial purchase of the brush you just buy the refills. The refills fill my brush twice. Hopefully they haven't downsized the refills. Love this stuff!
