Looking to make a purchase.  Are there any real differences between the major brand and # of discs?

Is there a significant difference betwen 40-72 discs?

How bout wet vs. dry?

Plug in vs. cordless?

TIA this board is the best for input and advice!!

I have an electric Emjoi and a rechargeable Braun. The Braun is way better.

Re: Best Epilator

It's a good idea to get one with a power cord, not a cordless rechargeable kind. You need the thing to work quickly and not have it start slowing down on you, causing more discomfort. I don't believe epilation is done on wet skin. Dry only. Wet hair is slippery and would be difficult to pull. Look for one with many tweezers. It will get the job done quicker, with less discomfort.

I would suggest to skip the newest Qvc sells that rips the hair out in opposite directions. I had the first Epilady back in 89 and it pulled out in various directions causing my arm hair to grow out sticking straight up and not like it did naturally. I had to keep going with it, but others came out pulling hairs in one direction & got one of those then it got much better.

I have always used Emjoi products, a corded version for body and the 18 tweezer battery one for the face. Work great for me!

Blackhorse, this looks interesting to me.  Does it remove the hair from the root?

No just the surface.

Thanks Everyone for the input!.  I purchased the emjoi with 72 discs.  It was a pleasure to use compared to the horrid epilators from the 80's.  I used it on legs and underarms.  A week has gone by and I feel I could go another round.

It's been so nice not having to have daily before work!!
