I recently posted 2 posts on discontinued lipstick colors.  My favorite has been discontinued by Rimmel for several years.  My stash was dwindling as I wear lipstick everyday because that particular color does a lot for pulling together my coloring, foundation, hair, etc.  ( I am 78 ).

There are a few tubes left that have to last me .....

I took the advice of another poster and used 3 Color Specialists company in Provincetown, MA that creates / matches the color from a small sample ( scrape it out of the very, very bottom of a tube, size of a dime ).  They will make 2 tubes for you.  If you are lucky and they already have created that match for another client, you will save $.

They also match foundations.  Google their website for more info.

If you have saved tubes that were used down to the flat surface, you can dig out a considerable amount that is hidden below the surface level.  I very recently posted a picture where I dug out 2 remnants and put them in an empty small mirrored shadow container.  I use a lip brush to apply it and thus prolong the good tube.

HTH.

Thank you so much!!!  I've been looking for years for Lipstick Queen, Butterfly Ball collection, color was called Sigh.  I've never come close and never found one I liked better.  I'll send a sample to this company and hope they can come close.

@SilleeMee Thanks, Rum Raisin and Plum Baby are the only 2 that would work.  The other two are too orange.  I'm not a huge fan of Revlon though and the Rum Raisin looked a lot redder elsewhere when I was looking earlier.  Might've been on Temptalia, but I'm not sure.  As I said earlier, I've got plenty of time, but I have found a couple on Sephora.  A Lancome Absolue Rouge in Delice de Figue which is a fig brown, Laura Mercier Rouge Essentiel in Beige Intime which is a light brown, and Charlotte Tilbury Kissing Lipstick in Pillow Talk Intense which is a Berry Rose.  The last one looks a lot like it on my computer screen, but it'll probably be redder, but I do like a little berry as long is it's not too red.

@Icegoddess   Here are some more lipsticks that might be a good fit for you:

-Bare Minerals "Perception"

-Tom Ford "Impassioned"

-Shiseido "Nocturnal"

-Revlon "In The Zone"

I find colors by thinking of different color names: oxblood, auburgine, burgundy, maroon etc and then I type in frosted, metallic, demi matte to narrow it down into the Google imafe search until I find some contenders for dupes of your favorite Dior listick.  I hope this helps! Smiley Happy

Also, there are Bite Beauty brand custom lipstick stores called Lip Lab in major cities in the USA and Canada that make your custom lipstick shades in person and then you can order refills of your lipsticks online: the website is liplab.com

The color match will be very close.

The texture may not be exact to your favorite so what I do is use their match as the base coat and apply a touch of the discontinued color to the bottom lip for a familiar feel.  This will prolong your favorite tube for a little while.

The cost of the first match if no one else has already requested it will be lower for subsequent refills as the initial matching will have already been done.

After literally years of looking for a match at every imaginable place, I finally found one.

Spent time with Dillard's makeup experts to no avail.  Every one of them mentioned that the color I was searching for was really beautiful.  Good thing I loaded up with whatever Amazon had when I found that the drug stores no longer had that shade of Rimmel !
