Re: Before and After haircuts

I personally think most women look better/younger/more attractive with shorter hair.  Do not see the attraction of long stringy locks especially as one gets older.

Shorter isn't always better.

YES to all of them!!  Love their new looks.

I cut my hair short and spiky, look so much younger even though I've let my hair go all gray/white

@San Antonio Gal.  Most with the really short hair are 100% better.  These cuts are very flattering to mature women.  Ha! That's the way I wear my hair.

To my eye, some look better and some do not.

But then I am not a believer in these general phrases, older women need shorter hair or everyone should go grey/natural, etc.

We are individuals and should act accordingly.

Re: Before and After haircuts

I wish they would compare "apples to apples" in these before and after type photos.

The 'afters' all have more makeup and better clothes along with the new hairdo.  Show me the new hairdo with no makeup and the same wrinkled clothes that they have in the first photo.  Along with the same angle and lighting.

Re: Before and After haircuts

If shorter makes you look younger/better, then what about Heidi Klum?  On another pic they did away with the bangs and on Heidi they added them in.

To tell you the truth, I don't think any of the Afters make the person look any younger.  Some look better, some just look different.  And some of them probably just needed the makeup change that was also included in the After pics.

I hated all the Bobs.  Bobs are what hairdressers always suggest for people with thin/fine hair.  I'm not buying.

Re: Before and After haircuts

I hope styles are not going back to a majority of "mature" women wearing extremely short hairstyles. For decades that haircut style said the woman was of "mature" age. Hairstylists seemed to assume then that if the woman was mature, she wanted a very short cut.

I'm not fond of real short hairstyles, but it's fine for those who do like it. I would never wear a hairstyle like Jamie Lee Curtis's. I don't like extremely long hair either, but that's fine for those who do, too. Maybe my not being fond of extremes is like a Goldilocks thing, But, I do like sophisticated hairstyles and feminine hairstyles.
