Beekman..Hype or Really that Good

I have a fallen for so many brands promising to be great at hydrating your skin. Looking for something for my mother who is 83 and has very dry skin. I have never even bought anything from Evine, but line has intrigued me. I'm leaning more towards for the body, not the face. Thinking about me too. Winter will be here and then it gets even worse.

Hype. I use their lip balm, and I like it, but I'm not going to stock pile it. When the main ingredient is one of the last, that is a red flag to me. I expect goat milk to be in the top three. Check out the prodcuts you are interested in.The best hydrators include oilive oil, shea butter, almond oil and coconut oil. You can make those at home without the extra unknowns.

It's a lot of hype.  The goats are darling and everyone seems enamoured by the boys but that really does not make for honest and excellent products.

I do have the soap bar that is plain and unscented.  It is a decent soap.  They repeatly say that goat's milk is close to ph balance but they never say that their soap is PH balanced.

My main soaps are the cleansers for Isomers which are PH balanced for the skin.

Everybody has a gimmick for sales.

I'm a bar soap junkie and have many (scents) of theirs.  My skin tends to be dry and I like how my skin feels after using their soap. . I cannot say whether these will help very dry skin.

I do not find their body lotions to be anything special.  They are no better or no worse than the many other brands I have stashed away.

I fell into the buying frenzy well documented in this forum.  I have more products than I will ever use. (even after giving a lot away)

I have discovered an inexpensive goat's milk soap that I really like. The source is a small farm in Indiana, family business, kids are home-schooled, shipping is done w/in 24 hours, and (if it matters to you), it's a Christian-based business (goat's milk stuff). I just placed my 2nd order yesterday for bar soap & laundry detergent. Very happy with their quality.

Their lip balms are the best I've ever used and I really like their hand creams as well.  My DH swears by the soaps and he don't like anything.  He is now on auto delivery for the soaps so he never runs out.

Similar family-run business and first-ingredient goat milk soaps out of Bend, Oregon. They tout their oatmeal and honey soap as great for dry skin. If sensitivity is an issue, they have an unscented goat milk soap. You can check them out at bendsoap dot com @luvdoodles

Re: Beekman..Hype or Really that Good

I fell for the hype and purchased the face wipes. For some reason they make my face sting and don't even do a very good job of removeing makeup. I would have sent them back if it wasn't for the always present and horrendous shipping charges. I hope, even if slowly, I'm learning that lesson a lot of you have expressed....every product has a story. I have purched Josie Maran's Argon Oil, which I believe, for me anyway, is wonderful. It is way to expensive and have found much cheaper pure, first cold pressed brands at local stores. Whether any of the products are good or not I believe is purely subjective. If you like them, and are willing and capable of paying the price good, if not, they are not.

Just another gimmick. Having the noisy dirty goats  on set is suppose to warm your heart I guess....  I bought a couple bars of the soap when they first came on Evine. Nothing special.  Just over priced soap.  If people want to believe otherwise, so be it.
