@chessylady Just read that two housecats in NYC have died of bird flu.  They don't know how it was transmitted. Scary.

@SilleeMee That's the one.

I asked if she couldn't find one with a picture of a flower instead of that cow, but she said it was fine! LOL

I told her I was using Bacon Up & was that ok, cause we may as well be ahead of the trends!

@Shelbelle  I have a friend trying the tallow and she said the brand she chose has no smell and absorbs right away.  So far, she loves it.  We'll see. Just show nothing works the same for everyone.

I just purchased two glass jars of organic grass fed beef tallow to use for cooking with, and also for making homemade soap. As for what I have learned about it, is that it is very healthy for cooking, and especially for use on the skin. I have not yet tried it as a facial moisturizer, but as for soap, there is nothing better IMO.

I have to say I've heard about tallow but never thought of using it. I have a strict regimen of products I use on my very dry, sensitive skin. Mainly Elemis oil and Pro Collagen cream. Well, long story short, my son came home for the weekend a couple of weeks ago. He, like me, has very sensitive skin and is acne-prone, and his skin looked great. I said , :"What are you using?". He pulled out this jar called Fancy Farm Bare Rub beef tallow. While he was home, I used it for 3 days and then took a scoop of it in a separate container to use after he left. All I have to say is WOW!! I get more hydration out of using just a little bit of this on top of my retinol than I ever did with the Elemis oil or Pro Collagen Cream. I ordered myself a jar the other night. My skin looks amazing. I am shocked. Who would have thought my kid would teach me about skincare products? Truly, don't knock it till you try it. My routine is down to 2 steps now at night ( not including cleansing), and my skin looks amazing. And I have very sensitive skin and rosacea.

ESPECIALLY not animal fat.   Wouldn't that have a tendency to clog pores?  di

@Desertdi

I understand it's not suppose to clog pores but I'm not the least bit tempted to see if that's true or not.

@SilleeMee All I can think of is slap a couple strips of bacon on your face.  Same thing basically.

My concern, aside from putting any kind of fat on my skin, is that toxins in the body are stored in the fat. I understand it would be moisturizing but I would worry about long term use. I think hyurolonic acid does the same thing without the toxin possibility.

@curlygirl13 @Hello, my son has history of cystic acne and some scarring. I remember asking him "wow what are you using your skin looks smooth and dewy?" Lol he said he started using beef tallow and showed me a jar he had. He's been using it for a while now ( at least a year) but I think he tried most everything for scarring and acne and tallow was the best.  Don't know the brand but I bought one and have not been consistent but like how my skin looks smooth on days I do use it. my tube is vintage tradition.
