Becca Ombre Nudes Eye Palette vs.Too Faced Natural Matte Palette

I mentioned in a previous thread that when I had both of these in my hot hands, I would review them. I now have them in my hot hands, sort of (you'll see).

First, a pic of the Becca and then a pic of the Too Faced:

I received the Too Faced palette first and tried every combination. I found that I really liked only one or two shades enough to wear on a regular basis. Actually, I really liked the Classic line. The Day and Fashion line didn't wow me.

I love every shade in the Becca palette. It's what I would have wanted the Urban Decay Naked Basics (either of them) to be. The colors in this palette are all in the same family (hence the "hombre") but distinctly different from one another, which is a big plus. They run a bit cool but not ashy gray, so I think they would work with most skintones. And I love that the darkest color is NOT black. I use this one as a liner. This palette provides very natural, polished look.

The Becca quality is superb. The colors are buttery smooth with almost a satin quality, well-pigmented, and, very important to me, super easy to blend.

The Too Faced had good pigmentation but did not blend as well and seemed a bit more powdery. When I swatched from both palettes, I could really tell the difference on my fingers.

I returned the Too Faced palette but am happily keeping the Becca.

Hi suzyQ3, I feel the same way as you about the Two Faced Set. The colors also went orange on me, and they felt drying on my lids. I returned after two tries. You know what shadows continue to impress me are YBF's. Becca reminds me of some of the shades I have from YBF. I have never tried the brand. Your review makes me want to go explore.

I returned my TF also. The shades were too warm and I wasn't thrilled. The Becca looks very pretty, tho. Enjoy.

I see that my Becca pic is rather large, so you have open the screen a bit to see all five shades.

Here's a smaller one:

I also wanted to mention that I've had these shades on for six hours, and they still look fresh and not all muddied together.

These look beautiful! Thanks so much for the review. I love the idea of the Becca but have also been curious about the Tarte tartlette palette. I would love to hear about the comparison in quality. Good mattes are tough to find.

Good to know and great review. Do I NEED another eye palette?! I did the math and it appears that I do!
