I wanted to find out if anyone else has noticed the changes that have occurred at the Beautypedia review website.  I have been a loyal user of these reviews for years (In fact, when it was still part of Paula's Choice, I actually would pay a yearly fee in order to access the reviews!)  Now it appears as if Beautypedia has broken off from Paula's Choice and they are supposedly independent of Paula's Choice.  I am finding a lot of reviews missing these days and actually entire cosmetic lines that were once on Beautypedia aren't there anymore.  I was specifically looking for reviews on Colourscience products.  If I remember correctly, Colourscience's Powder foundation actually got a 5 star rating, but now it's gone.  I really relied on this site before I purchased new products because my skin is quite finacky, but it seems like there's been some hanky-panky to the site.  Wonder why?

I can't explain why some reviews are missing, but since Beautypedia and Paula's Choice are both owned by Paula Begoun, I don't see how they'll ever be separate or independent.  They've always been located on the same website (PC), just different tabs.  To check this, I just typed in the website addy for Beautypedia and was taken to the  Paula's Choice website and it looks the same as it's been since the updating took place awhile back.

I know you can access them from the same website.  But if you read some of the Beautypedia reviews, they make the point that they are totally seperate from Paula's Choice.

Here's an example of their response to a Community Review on the Beautypedia website:

Beautypedia Team Response:Hi there! We're sorry that you didn't find this review sooner! Also, The Paula’s Choice Research Team no longer reviews products for Beautypedia, and while The Beautypedia Team is still a part of Paula’s Choice Skincare, what’s new—and you may not yet have known—is that now we have two teams working independently to bring you the best quality reviews, products, and research-supported expert advice you know and love. One team is dedicated to Beautypedia and product reviews from other brands; the other is dedicated to Paula’s Choice skincare and its unique combination of expertly formulated products and advice on a wide range of beauty-related topics. Have a lovely day! =)

Just kind of wondering what the motivation was for the split (maybe to appear more unbiased regarding Paula's Choice products), but I really want to know why so many reviews seem to be missing now - not only reviews of individual products, but whole product lines as well!

Thanks for the additional info, @sueeich, I think you're correct.  There have been complaints/accusations that Paula (hence, her team) can't be impartial since she has her own skincare company.  Her own products always get the best ratings, which makes sense, but I've also read about personal experiences of others where products Paula doesn't like turn out to be very well liked by everyday users.  I'm guessing the separating of the companies is in hopes of making Paula (her teams) look more impartial to hopefully disspell some of those negative impressions and accusations.  It kind of seems like playing games though since Beautypedia is still part of  Paula's Choice.

I still don't have an answer about missing reviews.  Maybe you should email them.

That may explain why two of my favorite PC products have lost a star.  The line minimizer because it doesn't have enough research and my daily moisturizer because it's only spf 25.
