Re: Beauty brands that are no more

Regarding Helene Curtis.

What I remember about this, is we got it for free. My dad was director of quality control for a aerosol packaging business, but they had contracts to package other beauty producat as well One of their biggest and longest running contracts was for HC. If an item didn't pass inspection, meaning if the container had something wrong with it:can was dented, label off center pump wasn't pumping properly, whatever, my dad would bring home the rejects. The product itself was fine, just its container was defective. We had free shampoo, conditioners, but the main thing we had was deodorant. I think the one brand we had the most of was SURE. We would {try,} and give them away to relatives either whenever they came to the house, or we went to a family reunion or we went downstate to visit family

We saved a lot of $$ by not having to purchase beauty products!

One product I do miss, {I don't wear make up, never have.} was a WONDERFULLY SCENTED fragrance called LOVE'S FRESH LEMON! I wish Harry Slatkin could turn this into one of his wondrfully scented candles! But his current lemon scented one, {the one that comes inside the lemon container,} comes close!

I think I remember seeing Tangee Lipstick on The Vermont Country Store Catalog.

I remember my Grandmother using Tussy products, the name made me giggle then. Her nail polish was Cutex.

My Mom used Jean Nate bath products. I was a Bonne Bell girl!
