@jackthebear @JudyL @Jordan2  This is done by algorithms...a way to track the number of viewers.

I've also noticed some have a "donation" code under their "subscribe", newsletters to sign up for that will increase their numbers, too. Kackie Reviews Makeup has a separate email sign up where you can pay to watch more content.

Keep in mind this may not be their full time job....yet. Some of the artists keep their main incomes until they earn enough from YT. You can hear them say how busy they are trying to keep contact going with their jobs, kids, travel, etc.

Some I watched many, many years ago are gone becuase their viewers were not enough. In that case I think the "powers" ask them to leave the channel.

@Shanus  I HAD never watched any videos on make up reviews and applications until @monicakm suggested the BLUSH VIDEO done by Nikki LaRose.  I was facinated.  I watched about 2/3 of it,  and because of that, learned how to apply cream blush,  which always went on splotchy previously,  so I was a 100% powder blush user.   Well,  I now,  in the past few weeks,  have purchased NINE cream blushes and a few new brushes, and LOVE cream blush!!!!!

Would really like to know who you suggest.  I'm not going to start watching as a regular diet,  but will check out some of them for tips and tricks that look interesting....  which doesn't mean I'll change how I do things,  but always good to see how others do it.

You have to really connect with someone....    after the blush video,  I looked at a few others from Nikki LaRose, as well as other people.  Some I could not tolerate or trust for more than a few secs.

Thanks.

I have really cut down on who I will watch anymore. Some are so overly sponsored that I no longer believe a review from them, so I don't watch. Some are sponsored by brands/items/services that I would never use, so that's off the table too.

They make it easy for me!

Re: Beauty Vloggers

[ Edited ]

My favorite makeup artists and skincare enthusiasts (not dermatologists) are James Welsh, Robert Welsh and Dominique Sachse.

Dermatologists I like are Doctorly (Dr. Shah and Dr. Maxfield), Dr. Shreene Idriss and Dr. Sam Ellis.

I have a linen closet full of this stuff.  At this point I have my tried and trues in cosmetics and unless something earthshaking comes along I'll stick with my routine.  I don't need temptation, and pretty much stick to samples to try new products, like TILI boxes..

@Shanus thanks for the offer, I have quite a number of Vloggers I watch ( my favorite Emily Noel, Jen Phelps, Jessica Braun, Kelly Gooch(?), and more. YT will say people who watch so and so watch this channel too, I always end up watching those too!

Oh yeah Bethenny Frankel too, but sometimes she turns me off. She can afford high end products, but often tells the viewer about drugstore products that are just as good or better than higher end ones.

I lost interest in Tati becuase she was entilted and rude to smaller creators. I won't watch her.

That being said I watch Kelly Gooch & Juicy Jas. I only use cruelty-free - these 2 vloggers cover that.

Those are my favorite too. I don't watch Robert Welch anymore though and I don't watch Dominique very often.  If my beloved at James Welch didn't get off his stupid Tik Tok obsession, I might not be watching him anymore either. His channel is not the same as it was when I discovered him. But I will always be thankful to him for getting me started on the right track with my skin care.

@depglass

Same. I'm happy with what I've settled on after 3 years but I know something will come along that's even better as science progresses. I'm perfectly happy with my complexion.  The tretinoin is to slow down progression of aging.  Before too long I'm going to let 25 and walk like a "granny'.  Wait, according to a five year old I'm already walking like a granny LOL
