Have you tried lightly adding a translucent powder on top on the shadow to knock down the shimmer from the e/s?  Or using a matte color on top thats very similar?

@monicakm

Not yet ... just rec'd on Tuesday and I played w/ it just the one time. The eyeshadow is very subtle and pretty, so I'm going to see if I can work with it. My eyelids are just very, very crepey and I'm selfconscious about how they appear w/ eyeshadow. Thanks for tips. I will play.

Hi ! As a 58 year old  silver haired lady I have been following Nikol for several years . I ordered a few products years ago . The biggest draw back is no returns or credits of any kind . I ordered a different eye shadow pallete than yours .I like a bit of shimmer ,but I agree with you . This was not really flattering and they are expensive

@marmarbrooklyn

I knew there were no returns and I don't typically send back makeup/cosmetics I buy and then don't like ... so I rolled the dice. If I can't make eyeshadow work, I will give to my sister or nieces to play with. I purchased during a sale she had ... what I really wanted was the eye primer for my lids. I liked that it had a bit of color to make eyes neutral. If nothing else, I will use the primer on lids, add some eyeliner and mascara.

I only recently started watching her videos. I find her interesting. Smiley Happy

I bought the Prai triple matrixal serum from HSN .   First time tying it.  Also ordered Londontown 2 piece nail concealer polish kit.  Intrigued me and I wanted to try it.  Autodelivery sent of Beauty Spy cleansing balm that I use all the time and just for my stock.

Also bought Elta gentle foaming face wash and Elta Intense moisturizer post radio frequency (Infini) treatment to use from derm who did treatment.  It's used in their protocol.

That's it for me.

Hope everyone is enjoying their purchases.

You're right, it is Smiley Happy  Decades ago I bought a ceramic doorbell plate for the back door.  It had similar art and the artist(s) name was Challas and Roo.  I'm not 100% sure on that first name.  The style was the same as this Laurel Burch scarf.

Re: Beauty Purchases; 4/28/22

Everything I bought this week was a repeat purchase:

1.  Batiste Volumizing Dry Shampoo.  It really is the best brand of dry shampoo and the volumzing one is my fave.

2.  Hourglass Primer.  I am so glad Ulta is now carrying Hourglass.  The ulta by me is so much more convenient to get to than the Sephora.  This primer is my holy grail.  I don't even try other brands now.

3.  Laura Geller balance and brighten foundation in Light.  This is a great powder foundation.  I have been super busy the last two weeks.  So it was Argon Milk, this, lipstick and out the door.

4.  Laura Geller Pink grapefruit blush.  This is my favorite blush.  It's one of the only (if not the only) blush I have every repurchased.  I try other ones and I do like them for a while but I always come back to this one.  For like 15 years!!

5.  Wait, I did get something new-- the Laura Geller items were purchased on the Laura Geller site.  (Sorry QVC, no balance and brighten or pink grapefruit available).  And I bought a brush set.  Two brushes- the kabuki (not retractable) and another face brush.

6.  Back order on QVC for Josie Maran Special Reserve.  I am thinking about getting from the Josie website but I don't like the price!!!  Oh the delimma of it all!

Last night I was picking out my makeup for the next day and couldn't find my Fenty Flypencil in Space Cookie (brown with gold flecks).  Was about to order another from Sephora when I found it.  I'm sure it's pretty low (in product) so I went ahead and ordered a new one while laying in bed.  While I was at Sephora I took a look at the pink lippies because 380 pink lippies aren't enough Smiley Happy

Another order from Elf: "mad for matte" jewel pop eyeshadow palette. It's a 10 ten shade palette with bright and muted. If a few colors are too intense, I can mix them with others to tone it down. I don't have green, sapphire blue or purple and those colors are included in the palette. As the name says, they're all matte and no shimmer.

Another mini jar of cleansing balm. I switch between that and makeup remover cloth pads to remove makeup.

Included for free is a no budge shadow stick in blue steel, a grayish blue. I already have that one, but since it's a free gift with purchase, couldn't choose my own color. That's OK, though, as I'll have it when my other stick runs out.  Free shipping if you spend $10.00.

From HSN, I ordered Nassif 3- pack 60 count Detox Pads for 49.99 free shipping.  They had been priced at 65.00 and I had been waiting for a price break.

I'm looking forward to trying these.  They come in original and gentle.  They are highly recommended by @JeanLouiseFinch and a few other ladies on this board. Can't beat the price!

That was the TS price when I purchased mine, only this set doesn't include the little jar of lip exfoliator.  The original version is plenty gentle, IMO.  It contains exfoliating ingredients but doesn't tingle or sting, so daily use is fine.  Don't forget to cut the pads in half to double the value.

Are detox pads used in place of an exfoliator? Are they also for cleansing or removing makeup?
