Funny stories, everyone. Glad to know we all make mistakes and can laugh about them later.

My biggest mistake was going to a tanning bed. I'm very pale, and I always wanted to look more tan in the summer. Tanning beds were very popular at the time. Got talked into it. Only stayed 10 minutes the first time instead of 30. Thought all was well. Went on a date that night. During our meal at a restaurant I became uncomfortable in my clothing. Excused myself to go the the ladies' room. Went into a stall and checked under my clothing. I had hives all over my torso. They were starting to itch and burn. I returned to the table and told my date I wasn't feeling well so he took me home. Nice guy. He never knew what really happened that night until I told him after we were married.

Another bad decision was getting talked into getting both a shorter cut and a perm on the same day at the salon. I was in my 20s. Thought I wanted something drastically different from my long straight hair. Yikes! Hated it.

I also wore lots of blue eye shadow in the 70s with my blue eyes. I also regret piling on lots of heavy foundation and concealer to cover my acne. It wasn't a good look, but I was very self conscious about my skin.

Too light of an eyebrow color.  I have matched my hair now and it's mucho better.

But blue eyeshadow was in (in the 70s) Smiley Happy  If  you consider it a mistake now, you've got lots of company.

Unfortunately I think most of us over tweezed.  Who knew it wouldn't all grow back? (sigh)

In high school I wanted blond hair. I put peroxide on it and went out in the sun and ended up with orange hair as my hair is dark brown.  My mother nearly killed me and she made a trip to the store and dyed it hoping it would return to my original color. It turned out to be an auburn color which wasn't too bad! Never did that again!

In our 20s my husband took a job as a supervisor over a building project in GA (we live in TX).  He came home once every 6 weeks.  I decided to color my hair a deep purple-ish red.  He had decided to grow a beard.  Neither of us knew what the other one was doing.  I ran outside to greet him after his 16 hour non-stop drive home.  The sun REALLY intensified my hair color.  We were both shocked to see what the other had done and just stood there staring at each other and at a loss for words.  I liked my hair color Smiley Happy

I used to be so obsessed with tweezing my eyebrows, that I would dig in too deep to get them and cause myself to bleed, then I would have a little scab.

I have a vivid memory of me standing at the bathroom mirror on my wedding day. I told myself that a tiny hair would not be visible in photos, but a scab would surely show up, so I controlled myself that day.  Eventually, I stopped doing that, and now those out of place hairs rarely show up.

Always remember that you are absolutely unique. Just like everyone else. Margaret Mead
