I recently received a sample of Sephora CC cream and I liked it so much I bought the full size, I use it under my tarte foundation, the cc cream evens out your skin tone and gives you a blank canvas for your foundation. However, I don't think it works well as a primer, as I noticed it doesn't help keep your foundation fresh throughout the day. So when do I use my primer, I usually use bare minerals or smash box, do I use the primer before or ayer the CC cream ? Thanks Ladies!

I would think you could use the primer before the CC. I have mixed primer with my CC just because I am not fond of primer. I feel like I have too many layers but when I mix them I still have one layer if that makes any sense.

With a cc, I wouldn't think you would also need a primer.
Have you waited a while to make sure the cc cream is dry and settled? Can you "set" the cc cream with a finishing powder before applying the tarte? Is the tarte a powder formulation?
Do you have oily/combo skin?

I have normal skin and use the tarte amazonian clay foundation . I have not been using a primer since i started the cc cream, it just seems by mid afternoon my foundation doesn't look as fresh s it would if i hd used a primer. probably cus the primers have silicone?

So the question I would ask is, if the cc cream & Tarte are not playing well together, is there an alternative combo to try? What are you trying to accomplish by using both?

Par, doesn't your primer even out and prep your skin? That's what it's meant to do and it accepts MU well. Is it possible that you need a different primer?

if I'm not mistaken, the cc cream also includes a primer. I think all cc creams do.
I think irishrose is correct. you may need a different primer, i.e. a different cc cream.

I've also found that CC primers are not as long-lasting as regular primers on their own. CC feels watered down to me, or something.
