Has anyone tried this - I'm not very good with my hair - not quite shoulder length 64 years old. I bought a curling iron 1" but couldn't get the hang of it so took it back. The beach waver almost looks foolproof but it is $199. I don't look good with stick straight hair, mine is fine but in really good condition. I'm tempted but I'd like to hear from you beauties. Thanks in advance.

I have this and I like it. It takes a bit of practice to feel comfortable with it, at least for me. It winds the hair for you, so you have to be careful to let pressure off the button before it winds too closely to the scalp, if you know what I mean.
What I do, is divide my hair into four big sections and then grab good size chunks in each "quadrant" to curl. This curls my entire head, although I think you can just take some pieces here and there if you want a more casual look.
What I love about this tool is that the curls stay in for so long, even the next day you have a bounce and spring to your hair.
I was never, ever able to manage any other curling iron before, so that tells you something.
I'm also using another curling device now, that lets me get a looser, softer curl for those times I don't have time to divide my hair into fourths and do the entire head (which takes me a good 30 minutes...when I first started it took more like 40 minutes.) This other one works better if I just want to take random sections here and there to give a soft style to my hair. But when I want a totally curly look, I use the beachwaver.

Thank you for your suggestions I'm going to look up your recommendations. I really don't want to spend that much for the Beach Waver - Ulta has 20% coupons from time to time, but I just want some waves and body. Thanks again.
